  • Publication number: 20220301420
Abstract: A system and method are disclosed to provide train detection and alerts. Embodiments include monitoring train status data, detecting a presence of a train based on the train status data, capturing current train data and converting the current train data and mapping device location data from one or more mapping devices into train metrics. Embodiments estimate an arrival time of the train at a railroad crossing and a duration of the train at the railroad crossing, check the current train data for errors, apply rules to the current train data to validate the current train data and generate an alert in response to the rules being satisfied. Embodiments display the alert on the one or more mapping devices to notify one or more corresponding users of the one or more mapping devices of the presence of the train.

  • Publication number: 20220302930
Abstract: A communication device includes interleaver circuitry that receives, from a host device, a first encoded data stream comprised of a plurality of symbols encoded with a first type of error correction code and interleaves the plurality of symbols of the first encoded data stream into symbol sections each including a predetermined number of symbols encoded with the first type of error correction code. Encoder circuitry encodes the first encoded data stream in accordance with a second type of error correction code different from the first type of error correction code by generating, for each of the symbol sections, an error code block corresponding to the symbols in the symbol section and outputs a second encoded data stream including the first encoded data stream and the error code block.

  • Publication number: 20220301291
Abstract: Digital image segmentation is provided. The method comprises training a neural network for image segmentation with a labeled training dataset from a first domain, wherein a subset of nodes in the neural net are dropped out during training. The neural network receives image data from a second, different domain. A vector of N values that sum to 1 is calculated for each image element, wherein each value represents an image segmentation class. A label is assigned to each image element according to the class with the highest value in the vector. Multiple inferences are performed with active dropout layers for each image element, and an uncertainty value is generated for each image element. Uncertainty is resolved according to expected characteristics. The label of any image element with an uncertainty above a threshold is replaced with a new label corresponding to a segmentation class based on domain knowledge.

  • Publication number: 20220300263
Abstract: A data structure (e.g., field, method parameter, or method return value) is defined by a descriptor to be of a particular type, which imposes a first set of restrictions on values assumable by the data structure. Separately, the data structure is associated with a type restriction that defines a second set of restrictions that further restricts the values assumable by the data structure. The descriptor and type restriction are encoded separately in a program binary. Responsive to identifying a value for the data structure that (a) is not forbidden by the first set of restrictions defined the descriptor and (b) is forbidden by the second set of restrictions defined by the type restriction, a runtime environment may perform a restrictive operation, such as: blocking storage of the value to a field; blocking passing of the value to a method parameter; or blocking return of the value from a method.
