Abstract: A device includes a memory to store multiple instructions, a touch-sensitive display, and a processor. The processor executes instructions in the memory to present, on the touch-sensitive display, an application display window; detect a touch on the application display window; display a handwriting input window based on the touch on the application display window, where the handwriting input window includes a magnified view of a portion of the application display window and where the handwriting input window is substantially centered at the location of the touch; detect a touch path input within the handwriting input window; display the touch path input within the handwriting input window; recognize that the touch path input has been removed from the handwriting input window; and present, on the touch-sensitive display, the application display window including the displayed touch path input, after the handwriting input window has been removed.

Abstract: A stage-based user interface for a mobile device may include a sequence of panels that each include a cluster or grouping of items, such as graphical links, application shortcuts, representations of documents, or representations of other data associated with the mobile device. The panels in the sequence of panels may be grouped so that panels that are related or that include similar items may be placed next to one another in the sequence of panels. In one implementation, the device may particularly display a graphical window that presents a panel selected from a sequence of panels, the panels in the sequence of panels each associated with a group of items and the sequence of panels having an order determined at least partially by the groups of items associated with the panels.

In particular implementation, a computing device may determine a group of active content items corresponding to a current navigation point of a set of content items, determine a representative content item from the group of active content items, and present an area displaying the representative content item.

Abstract: A method includes displaying a user interface on a touch display, receiving a user input on the touch display, determining whether the user input is associated with a navigational assistance area of the user interface, outputting one or more vibrations, when it is determined that the user input is associated with the navigational assistance area of the user interface, and outputting an auditory navigational cue that corresponds to a name associated with the navigational assistance area, when it is determined that the user input is associated with the navigational assistance area of the user interface.

Abstract: A mobile device associates a distinct background color with each graphical window of a sequence of graphical windows, and displays, on a touch-sensitive display, a first graphical window from the sequence of graphical windows, where the first graphical window includes a first background color and one or more display elements. The mobile device also receives a user input to the touch-sensitive display, scrolls through the sequence of graphical windows based on the user input, and displays, on the touch-sensitive display, a second graphical window from the sequence of graphical windows based on the scrolling, where the second graphical window includes a second background color different than the first background color.

Abstract: A method performed by a user device includes displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) on a touch screen, where the GUI includes a stack having a plurality of items. Each of the plurality of items is at least partially exposed to permit selection by a user, and each of the plurality of items includes content or provides access to content. The method further includes detecting an area of the touch screen that is touched by an instrument, and determining whether the touched area corresponds to an area of the stack or an area of one of the plurality of items. The method also includes determining a gesture corresponding to the touched area, performing an operation, corresponding to the gesture, on the stack or on the one of the plurality of items, and displaying, on the touch screen, content associated with the operation.

Abstract: A device provides a directory assistance request to a directory assistance server, and receives, from the directory assistance server, a script that includes auto-dial instructions and contact list instructions. The device executes the auto-dial instructions of the script to cause the device to automatically dial a telephone number requested by the directory assistance request, and executes the contact list instructions of the script to cause the device to selectively provide contact information, requested by the directory assistance request, in a contact list associated with the device.

Abstract: Exemplary media content user interface systems and methods are disclosed herein. An exemplary method includes a media content access subsystem displaying a plurality of display elements topographically distributed throughout a graphical representation of a virtual world in accordance with one or more distribution heuristics, detecting a user interaction, and dynamically adjusting the topographical distribution of the one or more display elements in accordance with the user interaction. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A computing device presents, on a screen, a three-dimensional rendering of an interface cube that includes a representation of a user's contacts displayed on at least one surface of the interface cube. The computing device receives a communication item from a peripheral application, where the communication item is associated with a particular contact of the user's contacts. User input is received to activate the multi-button menu icon and to identify a first button of the multi-button menu icon associated with a location of the user input. A second button of the multi-button menu icon is identified based on a changed location of the user input, and a different group of application icons associated with the identified second button are displayed.
