Abstract: Exemplary media content user interface systems and methods are disclosed herein. An exemplary method includes a media content access subsystem displaying a plurality of display elements topographically distributed throughout a graphical representation of a virtual world in accordance with one or more distribution heuristics, detecting a user interaction, and dynamically adjusting the topographical distribution of the one or more display elements in accordance with the user interaction. Corresponding systems and methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method including providing content for purchasing and viewing by users; providing at least one of an advertisement option, a replay option, or a content segment option pertaining to the purchasing and the viewing of a content; receiving a selection of content from a user; receiving a selection of the at least one of the advertisement option, the replay option, or the content segment option pertaining to the selected content; identifying a user device used by the user for viewing the selected content; sending the selected content to the user based on the identified user device; and displaying the selected content on the user device based on the selection of the at least one of the advertisement option, the replay option, or the content segment option.

Abstract: A computing device presents, on a screen, a three-dimensional rendering of an interface cube that includes a representation of a user's contacts displayed on at least one surface of the interface cube. The computing device receives a communication item from a peripheral application, where the communication item is associated with a particular contact of the user's contacts. The computing device creates a graphic based on the communication item and displays the graphic at a location on the representation of the user's contacts that corresponds to the location of the particular contact within a sequence of the user's contacts.

Abstract: A computing device presents, on a screen, a three-dimensional rendering of an interface cube that includes a representation of a user's contacts displayed on at least one surface of the interface cube. The computing device receives a communication item from a peripheral application, where the communication item is associated with a particular contact of the user's contacts. The computing device creates a graphic based on the communication item and displays the graphic at a location on the representation of the user's contacts that corresponds to the location of the particular contact within a sequence of the user's contacts.

Abstract: A stage-based user interface for a mobile device may include a sequence of panels that each include a cluster or grouping of items, such as graphical links, application shortcuts, representations of documents, or representations of other data associated with the mobile device. The panels in the sequence of panels may be grouped so that panels that are related or that include similar items may be placed next to one another in the sequence of panels. In one implementation, the device may particularly display a graphical window that presents a panel selected from a sequence of panels, the panels in the sequence of panels each associated with a group of items and the sequence of panels having an order determined at least partially by the groups of items associated with the panels.

Abstract: A mobile device associates a distinct background color with each graphical window of a sequence of graphical windows, and displays, on a touch-sensitive display, a first graphical window from the sequence of graphical windows, where the first graphical window includes a first background color and one or more display elements. The mobile device also receives a user input to the touch-sensitive display, scrolls through the sequence of graphical windows based on the user input, and displays, on the touch-sensitive display, a second graphical window from the sequence of graphical windows based on the scrolling, where the second graphical window includes a second background color different than the first background color.

Abstract: A method includes displaying a user interface on a touch display, receiving a user input on the touch display, determining whether the user input is associated with a navigational assistance area of the user interface, outputting one or more vibrations, when it is determined that the user input is associated with the navigational assistance area of the user interface, and outputting an auditory navigational cue that corresponds to a name associated with the navigational assistance area, when it is determined that the user input is associated with the navigational assistance area of the user interface.

Abstract: A method performed on a user device includes displaying a source user interface that includes one or more selectable objects; receiving a user input with respect to one of the one or more selectable objects of the source user interface; determining, in response to the user input, whether a lower level interface, with respect to the one of the one or more selectable objects of the source user interface, exists; displaying the lower level interface, when it is determined that the lower level interface exists for the one of the one or more selectable objects, where the lower level interface is displayed as a transparent overlay representative of a user interface that would be displayed if the user were to select from or access the source user interface; determining whether another user input is received, where the other user input indicates that the lower level interface is to be activated; and displaying the lower level interface as an opaque overlay, when it is determined that the other user input is received.

Abstract: A device provides a directory assistance request to a directory assistance server, and receives, from the directory assistance server, a script that includes auto-dial instructions and contact list instructions. The device executes the auto-dial instructions of the script to cause the device to automatically dial a telephone number requested by the directory assistance request, and executes the contact list instructions of the script to cause the device to selectively provide contact information, requested by the directory assistance request, in a contact list associated with the device.

Abstract: A device includes a memory to store multiple instructions, a touch-sensitive display, and a processor. The processor executes instructions in the memory to present, on the touch-sensitive display, an application display window; detect a touch on the application display window; display a handwriting input window based on the touch on the application display window, where the handwriting input window includes a magnified view of a portion of the application display window and where the handwriting input window is substantially centered at the location of the touch; detect a touch path input within the handwriting input window; display the touch path input within the handwriting input window; recognize that the touch path input has been removed from the handwriting input window; and present, on the touch-sensitive display, the application display window including the displayed touch path input, after the handwriting input window has been removed.

Abstract: Content may be displayed on a display of a device as part of a graphical interface in which the content is divided into categories or sections. A content item representing a particular group of content items, such as a group corresponding to a category, may be graphically “flashed” to the user as the user pans or scrolls through content. In particular implementation, a computing device may determine a group of active content items corresponding to a current navigation point of a set of content items, determine a representative content item from the group of active content items, and present an area displaying the representative content item.

Abstract: A computing device-implemented method includes displaying a receding timeline configured to fade back toward a horizon, the receding timeline including a starting point at a current time that is updated with a changing time. The method further includes receiving a time-related item from a peripheral application and creating a graphic based on the time-related item. The method also includes displaying the graphic at the starting point of the receding timeline and reducing the graphic size proportionally with the changing time of the receding timeline.

Abstract: A mobile communication device receives current information while the mobile communication device is in one of a sleep state or a locked state, and associates one or more portions of the current information with one or more corresponding windows. Abstract: A device detects an input object that is one of in contact with or adjacent to a touch screen of the computing device, calculates a location on the touch screen that is associated with the detected input object, and enlarges a display element, associated with the location, to a first size larger than sizes associated with one or more other display elements displayed on the touch screen. The device also enlarges one or more other display elements, provided adjacent to the display element, to a second size smaller than the first size, and displays, on the touch screen, the display element enlarged to the first size and the one or more other display elements, provided adjacent to the display element, enlarged to the second size.

Abstract: A method performed by a user device includes displaying a graphical user interface (GUI) on a touch screen, where the GUI includes a stack having a plurality of items. Each of the plurality of items is at least partially exposed to permit selection by a user, and each of the plurality of items includes content or provides access to content. The method further includes detecting an area of the touch screen that is touched by an instrument, and determining whether the touched area corresponds to an area of the stack or an area of one of the plurality of items. Abstract: In certain embodiments, a graphical user interface (“GUI”) including a live camera sensor view is displayed and, in response to the capture of a camera image, an image manager pane is displayed together with the live camera sensor view in the graphical user interface. The image manager pane includes a visual indicator representative of the captured camera image. In certain embodiments, a camera image is captured and automatically assigned to a session based on a predefined session grouping heuristic. In certain embodiments, data representative of a captured camera image is provided to a content distribution subsystem over a network, and the content distribution subsystem is configured to distribute data representative of the camera image to a plurality of predefined destinations.
