  • Patent number: 11501542
Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for progressively updating at least one matrix of license plate identification values is disclosed. At a vehicle presence time, an image is captured within which is shown a uniquely identifiable license plate of a vehicle. Analytics is carried out on the image to obtain, in relation to the uniquely identifiable license plate, at least four values in relation to both a license plate number and at least one additional plate-identifying information. The matrix of license plate identification values is populated with the at least four values and stored in a database.

  • Patent number: 10445569
Abstract: Approaches provide for recognizing and locating text represented in image data. For example, image data that includes representations of text can be obtained. A width-focused recognition engine can be configured to analyze the image data to determine a base-set of words. The base-set of words can be associated with logical structure information that describes a geometric relationship between words in the base-set of words. A set of bounding boxes that includes one or more base words can be determined, as well as a confidence value for each base word. A depth-focused recognition engine can be configured to analyze the image data to determine a focused-set of words, the focused-set of words associated with a set of bounding boxes and confidence values for respective words. A set of merged words can be determined from a set of overlapping bounding boxes that overlap a threshold amount.

  • Patent number: 10366313
Abstract: Tasks such as object classification from image data can take advantage of a deep learning process using convolutional neural networks. These networks can include a convolutional layer followed by an activation layer, or activation unit, among other potential layers. Improved accuracy can be obtained by using a generalized linear unit (GLU) as an activation unit in such a network, where a GLU is linear for both positive and negative inputs, and is defined by a positive slope, a negative slope, and a bias. These parameters can be learned for each channel or a block of channels, and stacking those types of activation units can further improve accuracy.

  • Patent number: 10032072
Abstract: Approaches provide for identifying text represented in image data as well as determining a location or region of the image data that includes the text represented in the image data. For example, a camera of a computing device can be used to capture a live camera view of one or more items. The live camera view can be presented to the user on a display screen of the computing device. An application executing on the computing device or at least in communication with the computing device can analyze the image data of the live camera view to identify text represented in the image data as well as determine locations or regions of the image that include the representations.

  • Patent number: 9455391
Abstract: A process for constructing a superconducting Josephson-based nonvolatile quantum memory device comprising: sequentially depositing on a silicon substrate a thermal oxide buffer layer, a superconductor bottom-electrode thin film, and an oxide isolation layer; patterning an active window having dimensions smaller that 10 nanometers in the oxide isolation layer; then sequentially depositing a bottom tunnel oxide layer, a charge-trapping layer, a top cap, and a top superconductor electrode layer; defining an active region by dry etching down to the oxide isolation layer while protecting the active region from etch chemistry; depositing a device passivation layer; defining and patterning vias from a top of the device passivation layer to the superconductor bottom-electrode thin film and to the top superconductor electrode of the active region; and depositing metal interconnect into the vias.

  • Patent number: 7852870
Abstract: A supervisory communications device, such as a base station within a wireless network, monitors and controls communications with a plurality of remote communications devices, such as mobile nodes, throughout a widely distributed network, including the Internet. The supervisory device establishes the upstream slot structure and allocates upstream bandwidth by sending messages over its downstream channel. The supervisory device also uses the messages and minislot counts to anticipate bursts from the remote devices. Dual registers are provided within the supervisory device to generate minislot counts. A primary register generates minislot counts for a current slot structure, and a secondary register generates minislot counts for a revised slot structure. Software executed on the supervisory device determines a switchover time for changing to the revised slot structure and revised minislot count.
