  • Publication number: 20050236037
Abstract: A high capacity dye-sensitized solar cell module where a plurality of unit cells are simultaneously formed at a substrate in a simplified manner with increased light absorption efficiency. The dye-sensitized solar cell module includes first and second conductive substrates facing one another with regions for a plurality of unit cells. First and second electrodes are formed on the first or the second substrate such that the first and the second electrodes face one another at the respective unit cells. A dye is adsorbed at the first electrode. The space between the first and the second substrates at the respective unit cells is filled with an electrolyte. Insulation regions are formed on at least one of the first and the second substrates between a pair of unit cells neighboring to one another. The pattern of insulation regions, on one or both of the substrates, results in the unit cells being coupled in series, in parallel, or in a combination manner.

  • Publication number: 20050238957
Abstract: Disclosed is an electrode comprising an aliphatic nitrile compound, wherein the aliphatic nitrile compound is coated on a surface of the electrode or is incorporated into the electrode active materials. A lithium secondary battery having the electrode is also disclosed. The lithium secondary battery has excellent safety so as to prevent ignition and explosion generated when the internal temperature of the battery is increased due to the heat emission caused by the reaction of an electrolyte with a cathode and the structural collapse of a cathode occurring upon overcharge. Additionally, it is also possible to prevent ignition and explosion when the battery is exposed to high temperature due to an increase in temperature resulting from heating or local short circuit caused by physical impacts. Further, it is possible to solve the problems of an increase in viscosity and degradation in battery performance at a low temperature occurring when an aliphatic nitrile compound is used as an additive for electrolyte.

  • Publication number: 20040219113
Abstract: The patch for tooth whitening of the present invention includes a tooth-adhering layer (1) containing erodible polymer complexes formed by hydrogen bonding of a polymer with a carboxyl group (—COOH) and a polymer with a carbonyl group (—C═O) or ether group (—O—) and a tooth whitening agent; and an erosion rate-controlling layer (2) containing a mixture of a hydrophilic polymer and a film-forming polymer, wherein the patch is in a film form and is characterized by being eroded until extinguished after releasing the tooth whitening agent. When applied to the teeth, the patch releases a peroxide tooth-whitening agent while being hydrated by water in the mouth during a prescribed period, and thereafter, eroded until extinguished, thereby not requiring an additional detaching work from the teeth. Therefore, the patch is convenient in use and greatly reduces an obstruction sensation. Moreover, the patch has an excellent whitening effect.

  • Publication number: 20040008177
Abstract: A display apparatus having a backlight unit whose brightness is adjusted according to input image signals. The display apparatus processes input image signals in order for them to be appropriate to a display characteristic in an image signal processing unit and outputs each chromatic signal, R, G, and B, related to a color configuration of the image signals, processed in the chromatic signal output unit. Then a display panel drives an image display screen according to each chromatic signal. Meanwhile, a chromatic averaging unit calculates average brightness of the input images from each chromatic signal to transfer to a controller. The controller controls an inverter through an inverter current limiting unit in order for currents provided to the backlight unit in the display panel, to be controlled according to the average brightness of the input images calculated in the chromatic signal averaging unit.

  • Patent number: 6294016
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for manufacturing a high conductivity p-type GaN-based thin film superior in electrical and optical properties by use of nitridation and RTA (rapid thermal annealing) in combination. A GaN-based epitaxial layer is grown to a desired thickness while being doped with Mg dopant with a carrier gas of hydrogen by use of a MOCVD process. The film thus obtained is subjected to nitridation using nitrogen plasma and RTA in combination. The p-type GaN-based thin film exhibits high hole concentration as well as low resistivity, so that it can be used where high electrical, optical, thermal and structural properties are needed. The method finds application in the fabrication of blue/white LEDs, laser diodes and other electronic devices.
