  • Publication number: 20210315045
Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for configuring sidelink communications between user equipment's (UEs). Per one technique, during a discovery opportunity, a first UE and a second UE may identify a subset of beam pairs suitable for communication, and schedule a discontinuous transmission (DTX) occasion during the discovery opportunity. During the DTX occasion, the first UE and second UE may perform a beam refinement procedure to determine a beam pair (BP) over which to communicate, from the identified subset of beam pairs. The beam refinement procedure may include beam narrowing of at least one of the identified subset of beam pairs.

  • Publication number: 20210306961
Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured with one or multiple transmission and reception points (TRPs). The UE may support sidelink communications, which may be referred to as vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communications systems, vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communications systems, and the like. The UE may provide improvements to resource determination for the sidelink communications by determining whether multiple peer UEs can be space-division multiplexed over time and frequency resources. To mitigate interference between the multiple peer UEs, the UE may transmit a power control request message to one or multiple peer UEs to adjust a transmit power level, and a receive a power control response message from the one or multiple peer UEs accepting or rejecting the transmit power level adjustment. As a result, the UE may experience efficient sidelink operations.

  • Publication number: 20210266951
Abstract: An apparatus receives, in a transmission from a second UE, an indication of reserved resources for the second UE. The apparatus measures a received power of the transmission from the second UE. The apparatus excludes the reserved resources indicated by the second UE from a set of candidate resources based on the received power of the transmission from the second UE meeting a threshold, where the threshold is based at least in part on whether the reserved resources are associated with a retransmission.

  • Publication number: 20210267008
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A communication device supports sidelink communications, including device-to-device (D2D) communications and vehicle-based communications. The communication device receives, from another device, a discontinuous transmission (DTX) configuration for a sidelink connection between the communications device and the other device. Based on the received DTX configuration, the communications device determines a discontinuous reception (DRX) configuration and transmit, to the other device, the determined DRX configuration. The devices experience power savings, among other results according to the DTX configuration or the DRX configuration.

  • Patent number: 10419191
Abstract: Exemplary communication apparatus comprising a MAC-layer processor configured to receive data for a downlink transmission to a first device; transmit a grant comprising resource allocations for the device to receive the data and to transmit a reception status for the data; and transmit the first grant and at least part of the data in a symbol. The grant can also be frequency-multiplexed with another grant to another device in the symbol, which can also be spatially multiplexed in streams directed to the respective devices. Other embodiments include determining a resource allocation for a device that encompasses resources previously allocated to at least one other device but comprises an indicator that such resource is unavailable to the device. Exemplary methods and computer-readable media can also be provided embodying one or more procedures the apparatus is configured to perform.
