  • Patent number: 9295483
Abstract: A patella drill guide includes a base portion rotatably mounted on a bone-gripping component. A trial portion with a contoured articulation surface is above the base portion. The base portion and trial portion have aligned drill guide bores. The base portion and trial portion can be rotated together on the bone-gripping component to optimize the positions of the drill guide bores with respect to the patella surface, thereby optimizing the locations of the mounting pegs of the patella implant component on the patella to optimize the orientation of the patella implant component. The base and the bone-gripping component may be unitary so that the entire assembly rotates on the patella about the central longitudinal axis of the bone-gripping component.

  • Publication number: 20160000363
Abstract: A venous access device includes a hub and a bifurcated cannula. The hub includes a bifurcated connecting arm, a blood sampling arm connected to the bifurcated connecting arm, a fluid transfer arm connected to the bifurcated connecting arm, a blood sampling channel and a fluid transfer channel. The blood sampling channel passes through the blood sampling arm and the bifurcated connecting arm. The fluid transfer channel passes through the fluid transfer arm and the bifurcated connecting arm. The bifurcated cannula is coupled to the bifurcated connecting arm and includes a blood sampling lumen having a blood sampling port, a fluid transfer lumen having a fluid transfer port, and a dividing member separating the blood sampling lumen from the fluid transfer lumen. The blood sampling port is 2 mm to 20 mm proximal from the fluid transfer port. • Patent number: 9015276
Abstract: A method is provided through which information about media files embedded in web pages is obtained from a server and analyzed to determine if the media files are playable on a device. This information may be external to the media file or may be a portion of the media file itself. The determination of whether a media file is playable by a device is made based on information obtained from the server without downloading the entirety of the media file.

  • Patent number: 8998912
Abstract: A patella drill guide includes a base with a flat patella bone-facing surface, a drill guide bore extending through the base, a cantilever spring member and a bone-gripping member. The cantilever spring member biases the bone-gripping member and the flat patella bone-facing surface toward each other. Flexing the cantilever spring member moves the bone-gripping member away from the flat patella bone-facing surface so that the drill guide can be placed on the patella. When the cantilever spring member is released, the patella is clamped between the bone-gripping member and the flat patella bone-facing surface. The drill guide may have sizing indicia and may be part of a kit including trial components to be mounted to the drill guide.

  • Publication number: 20140081408
Abstract: A modular knee prosthesis system includes a femoral component having a stem, a plurality of different sizes of sleeves mountable on the stem, and a plurality of different sizes of augments mountable on the femoral component. The system is modular, and provides the surgeon with the option of distally offsetting the joint line by selecting the size of sleeve that will provide the desired joint line. The different sizes of sleeves have different axial lengths but share a common geometry along a substantial part of their lengths so that the same bone cavity will accept multiple sizes of sleeves.

  • Patent number: 8666893
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to an electronic funds transfer authentication system and method to facilitate the verification and authentication of a user and the ownership of the source account from which funds are being transferred to another account. The user and transfer data is validated, and then the electronic funds transfer is validated using payment analytics that analyze the behavioral characteristics of the user which may be derived from both internal and external sources of information. Using a unique combination of security measures and procedures, the risk associated with various types of fund transfers is reduced, thereby enabling a financial institution to protect its customers' accounts with a greater degree of certainty.
