  • Publication number: 20210146033
Abstract: An ambulatory pump and a battery compartment for use in an ambulatory pump. The ambulatory pump includes a pump, a controller coupled to the pump for controlling the pump to deliver fluid to a patient, and a battery compartment electrically coupled to the pump and the controller. The battery compartment defines a cavity for alternately receiving a battery pack and a plurality of household batteries. A flex guide is positioned within the cavity. The flex guide has a compressed state and a non-compressed state where a profile of the flex guide has a height that is greater than half the insertion depth of the household batteries in the non-compressed state and that is less than half the insertion depth in the compressed state.

  • Patent number: 10956219
Abstract: Systems and methods may use models to generate predictions of specific access rights for users. Further, systems and methods may generate the predictions in an environment in which the availability of the specific access rights change frequently. The access rights, predicted using embodiments described herein, may be both available and associated with user affinities. An interface associated with the primary load management system may be configured to display the predicted access rights for a user operating a user device.

  • Publication number: 20200390930
Abstract: Methods for treating a wound with a wound packing are discussed. While the wound packing can include any suitable component, in some cases, it includes a collection of multi-potent cells (e.g., cells from bone marrow, amniotic membrane tissue, amniotic fluid, stem cells, etc.), plasma (e.g., concentrated and/or platelet rich plasma), and collagen (e.g., native and/or organized reconstituted collagen). In some cases, the wound packing is gelled, coagulated, or otherwise hardened through the use of thrombin, calcium chloride, and/or another suitable additive. In some cases, the wound packing is shaped to substantially correspond to the wound's shape. While the wound packing can be used in any suitable manner, in some instances, it is applied to the wound, skin fragments are applied to the packing, the packing is secured to the wound, and/or the packing is covered with a protective barrier. Other implementations are also described.

  • Publication number: 20200188612
Abstract: Systems and methods for reducing pathogens near an implant are discussed. In some cases, the methods include reducing contaminants in a portion of a patient that has an implant and that is disposed interior to a closed surface of skin of the patient. The method can further include placing a conduit in the closed surface of skin and flowing an antimicrobial fluid into that portion of the patient to contact the antimicrobial fluid with a surface of the implant and tissue adjacent to the implant. In some cases, the antimicrobial fluid is then removed from the portion of the patient having the implant. As part of this method, biofilm near the implant can be mechanically, ultrasonically, electrically, chemically, enzymatically, or otherwise disrupted. Other implementations are described.

  • Patent number: 10601931
Abstract: Systems and methods for allowing separate parties to identify each other through the use of matching computer-coordinated identifiers are discussed. In some cases, the methods include using a processor of a computer system to identify a first computer device configured to provide a first perceptible identifier, using the processor to identify a second computer device that is configured to provide a second perceptible identifier, and using the processor to send the first perceptible identifier to the first computer device and the second perceptible identifier to the second computer device, wherein the first and second perceptible identifiers correspond with each other to provide a two-sided, computer-coordinated verification. In some cases, the described methods include modifying the first and second identifiers as the first and second computer devices come into proximity with each other. Other implementations are discussed.

  • Patent number: 10039663
Abstract: Some implementations of the described invention relate to systems and methods for applying a total contact cast to a patient for treatment of a wound on an appendage, such as a leg or foot. While the cast system can comprise any suitable component, in some cases, it includes a clam-shell cast, a foot support defining (or customizable to define) an offloading hole, and a cast underlayment (such as a compression sock, a padding sock, and/or additional padding). In some implementations, a first length of the clam-shell cast is applied to a patient's calf, a second length of the cast is applied to across a patient's foot, and a third length is folded up over the patient's foot to extend up a portion of the patient's calf. In some cases, a strap or wing is used to attach the first and the third lengths together. Other implementations are also described.
