  • Publication number: 20150025432
Abstract: Some implementations of the described invention relate to systems and methods for applying a total contact cast to a patient for treatment of a wound on an appendage, such as a leg or foot. While the cast system can comprise any suitable component, in some cases, it includes a clam-shell cast, a foot support defining (or customizable to define) an offloading hole, and a cast underlayment (such as a compression sock, a padding sock, and/or additional padding). In some implementations, a first length of the clam-shell cast is applied to a patient's calf, a second length of the cast is applied to across a patient's foot, and a third length is folded up over the patient's foot to extend up a portion of the patient's calf. In some cases, a strap or wing is used to attach the first and the third lengths together. Other implementations are also described.

  • Publication number: 20150025429
Abstract: The present invention relates to orthopedic casts. In particular, some implementations relate to a cast system having one or more underlayment components that are disposed between an internal surface of a cast or splint and a body part that is covered by the cast or splint. While the underlayment components can include any suitable element, in some cases, they include a compression sock and a padding layer. Additionally, in some such cases, the compression sock and the padding layer are capable of moving (at least somewhat) with respect to each other such that shearing movement between the skin of a casted appendage and the cast itself is configured to take place between the padding layer and the compression sock (and/or another portion of the underlayment). Additionally, in some cases, one or more components of the underlayment comprise an antimicrobial material, such as a bamboo fabric. Other implementations are also described.

  • Publication number: 20150025428
Abstract: The present invention relates to orthopedic casts. In particular, some implementations relate to one or more components of a total contact cast system that can be used in the treatment of an appendage, such as a leg or foot. While the cast system can comprise any suitable component, in some cases, it includes an elongated piece of hardenable casting material. In some such cases, the casting material includes a first length of casting material that is configured to extend over a patient's calf, a second length of casting material that is configured to wrap around a portion of the patient's foot, and a third length of the casting material that is configured to extend up a shin of the patient's leg. In some cases, one or more wings or straps extend between the first and third lengths of the elongated piece of hardenable casting material. Other implementations are also described.

  • Publication number: 20150025430
Abstract: The present invention relates to a foot support for use with a cast. While the foot support can include any suitable component, in some cases, it includes an elongated foot pad having a heel end and a toe end, wherein the foot pad includes a first layer of padding. In some cases, the foot support and the first layer of the padding at the toe end of the elongated foot pad are formed into a toe guard having a resilient shape, such as J-shaped profile. As a result, in some cases the toe guard is configured to extend over a dorsal portion of at least one toe when a foot is disposed on the elongated foot pad. In some cases, the foot support also defines an offloading hole that is configured to offload weight from a wounded portion of a foot placed on the pad. Other implementations are also described.

  • Publication number: 20090177532
Abstract: A self serve advertising platform and method is provided, including an interface that permits users to sign up, create accounts, create, customize or upload advertisements, create campaigns, including defining campaign objectives and parameters, set budgetary and time constraint limits on the advertising, and analyze the performance of one or more such ad campaigns.

  • Patent number: 6209036
Abstract: Provided is a method and apparatus for improved access to material via the World Wide Web Internet service. Web page URLs are stored as attribute-values of directory objects and Web page hyperlinks to those directory objects are provided together with access logic responsive to the hyperlinks for retrieving the URLs for use by a client. This indirect access to Web pages via hyperlinks to directories has significant advantages for Web page organization and facilitates more flexible methods of Web page access than the known use of hyperlinks which include URLs pointing directly to the target Web pages.

  • Patent number: 4158455
Abstract: A jig for holding planar sheet material during installation. The device includes a channel section provided with captively held nail members for temporarily attaching the jig to a substructure, e.g. wall studs. The channel section further has a groove along an interior wall surface for receiving an interchangeable frictional holding strip. The intersection of a second interior wall and bottom surface forms an inclined wedging surface. An edge of the sheet material is placed within the channel and is grippingly engaged by the coaction of the frictional holding strip and the wedging surface. The sheet material is angularly supported resting against the substructure and can then be nailed in place.
