  • Publication number: 20240015505
Abstract: A system in which a plurality of UEs (User Equipment), each of which have access to one or more enterprise networks can be provided with credentials to access those enterprise network to which they have been granted access and in which system each such UE is provided with geofencing information for those enterprise networks to which a UE has been granted access (i.e., has been assigned credentials). The UE uses the geofencing information to determine whether to look for enterprise network transceivers (e.g., access points, eNBs or gNBs) though which the UE can gain wireless access to the enterprise network.

  • Publication number: 20240007865
Abstract: Various embodiments of methods and apparatus for peer network communication in wireless networks are disclosed. The methods and apparatus make use of a local region or coordination zone that supports a set of Enterprise deployments each including a group of CBSDs that taken together comprise a set of interacting nodes. The group of deployments in a local region are willing to coordinate activities with each other to establish a mutually aggregable set of operating parameters for each of their networks. These entities share information that enables distributed computation and the sharing of results to agree on mutually acceptable network operating parameters.

  • Publication number: 20230412474
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed that provides improved techniques and metrics used to improve the “Quality of Experience Delivered” (“QED”) for use in Private Enterprise networks. The method and apparatus provides normalized metrics used for assessing all service types for performance. Focus is placed on latent scores and allowing for a range of acceptable operational scores. Observation points are identified and metrics collection is performed at the ingress and egress points for functional/application/node/service levels. Assessment based on packet sizes groups is enabled, rather than as an aggregate for better understanding of the tunability of the application layer for improved service. Burstiness of the traffic is gauged to allow for improved scheduling in the RAN. Individual deployments are adapted to assess ?G and assess ?S and ?V for end-to-end performance management.

  • Publication number: 20230397176
Abstract: Methods and apparatus for resource allocation in a fixed wireless network are described. The resources are allocated to a BTS-CBSD based on the following input information: (1) the conditions of a Wi-Fi connection between the BTS-CBSD and each of a plurality of CPE-CBSDs; (2) the number of users being serviced by each CPE-CBSD; (3) the contention for the Wi-Fi channels at each CPE-CBSD; (4) the total amount of spectrum available to be allocated to the BTS-CBSD by the SAS/SON; (5) the achieved downlink (DL) throughput between the BTS-CBSD and the CPE-CBSD; (6) the achieved uplink (UL) throughput between the BTS-CBSD and the CPE-CBSD; and (7) the achieved latency between the BTS-CBSD and the CPE-CBSD. By using these metrics, the throughput of the Wi-Fi connection between the plurality of CPE-CBSDs and the UEs can be effectively matched to the amount of resources allocated to each CPE-CBSD and to the total amount of resources allocated to the BTS-CBSD.

  • Publication number: 20230397135
Abstract: A method and apparatus are disclosed in which a first UE (User Equipment) receives signals from one or more MNO base stations. The UE synchronizes with the MNO base station timing. The first UE then communicates with a second UE over a wireless side-haul, providing the second UE with timing information derived from the MNO base station. By using the wireless side-haul, a relatively short GPIO (General Purpose Input/Output) connection over a wireline can be used to communicate the timing information from the second UE to a PTP GM (Precision Timing Protocol Grand Master). The second UE may be integrated into a cell of a communications network that contains the PTP GM. Accordingly, using the side-haul to communicate the timing information avoids cabling to a master cell.

  • Patent number: 11838984
Abstract: A credential management system for enterprise networks (ENs) that allows credential storage in different levels and enables individual enterprises to manage the sets of credentials for the SIM cards used in their respective networks. Central management of credentials is provided by a remote cloud-based, centralized orchestration network (O-Net) that receives SIM cards from a SIM Provisioning Platform (SPP) and distributes the credentials to the ENs, which store the credentials in an enterprise global database and assign the SIM cards to the UEs. The credentials can be associated with specific policies and user groups so that the enterprise can control the type and quality of access allowed to UEs. Each EN may have a plurality of campus locations and at each location, a local credential database may be provided to act as a cache for quick efficient access to credentials by the UEs.

  • Patent number: 11825406
Abstract: A User Equipment (UE) device, such as a cellular telephone, configured to store Higher Priority Public Land Mobile Network (HPPLMN) timer setting values and enterprise geofence information associated with the entries on its Equivalent Home Public Land Mobile Network (EHPLMN) list is disclosed. When the UE is camped on an EHPLMN, the UE may search/scan for higher priority EHPLMNs using the HPPLMN timer setting values associated with the entries on the list that have higher priority than the current EHPLMN. The rate of the scans may be set based on the shortest HPPLMN timer entry of the higher priority entries on the EHPLMN list. The UE may also or instead be configured to search for geofenced EHPLMNs on the list for which entrance criteria are currently satisfied, even when the current EHPLMN has higher priority than the geofenced EHPLMNs.

  • Publication number: 20230292083
Abstract: Geofencing information for enterprise campus sites is stored in a geofencing database. Having such geofencing information available makes it possible to save power by limiting scans to only regions that are relevant to the User Equipment (UE) doing the scanning. Dynamic credential selection is also made possible. The geofence database is learned and/or provisioned from individual enterprise deployments. As a new enterprise network is deployed, the network accesses a resource that manages the geofencing database and provides information for the newly deployed network.

  • Publication number: 20230292393
Abstract: A first referred to as Approach A has three 40 MHz BWPs. The first BWP of the BWP configuration 2, approach A referred to as “BWP #1” resides in the top of the 100 MHz bandwidth. A second approach referred to as “BWP #2” resides in the middle portion of the 100 MHz band. A third approach referred to as “BWP #3” resides in the bottom portion of the 100 MHz band. BWP configuration 2, approach A allows overlaps between the BWP #1 and BWP #2 and also between BWP #2 and BWP #3. These overlaps can be leveraged to allow a diversity of users to be scheduled across BWPs #1 and #2 and between BWPs #2 and #3. In some embodiments, BWP #2 aligns with BWP Configuration 1 users.
