Abstract: The present invention relates to a travel plug adapter, which will also be referred to herein as a travel adapter, for short. Using such an adapter it is possible to insert power plugs of a certain (domestic) standard into the outlets present at the travel destination.

Abstract: An approach is provided in which the approach provides a first question to a requestor requesting access to a resource. The first question corresponds to a first cognitive level and includes at least one image selected from a set of images. The approach computes a confidence value of a first answer received from the requestor responding to the first question. In response to determining that the confidence value is below a confidence threshold, the approach provides a second question to the requestor corresponding to a second cognitive level that is increased from the first cognitive level. The approach grants access to the requestor in response to determining that a second answer received from the requestor responding to the second question is a correct answer.

Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for facilitating real time conversations based on topic determination are provided. Aspects include receiving one or more user topic profiles. Aspects also include receiving an audio recording of a conversation obtained from one or more audio sensors. Aspects also include converting the audio recording of the conversation to text. Aspects also include determining a topic of the conversation by applying a topic model to the text. Aspects also include determining one or more potentially interested users based on the topic of the conversation and the one or more user topic profiles. Aspects also include notifying the one or more potentially interested users that the conversation is occurring.

Abstract: An input question enhancement mechanism is provided for merging sub-question results in Question and Answer (QA) systems in order to answer an input question submitted from a user. A plurality of sub-questions associated with the input question is identified. Responsive to submitting the set of questions to a QA pipeline of the QA system, a set of answers and a set of passages related to the set of answers corresponding to each of the plurality of sub-questions are received. A mapping is applied to the set of passages to form a consolidated set of passages. The set of answers is then merged into the mapping so as to generate a consolidated set of answers. A factoid question response report is generated with answers from the consolidated set of answers and passages from the consolidated set of passages. The factoid question response report is then provided to the user.

Abstract: An approach is provided in which the approach receives a media stream comprising an audio stream and a video stream. The audio stream includes a set of audio tones inserted at a set of predetermined frame intervals, and the video stream includes a set of predetermined colors inserted into a set of predetermined pixel locations at the predetermined frame intervals. The approach determines that an audio frame in the audio stream at which the set of audio tones are inserted is misaligned in time with a video frame in the video stream at which the set of predetermined colors are included in the set of predetermined pixel locations. The approach synchronizes the audio stream with the video stream in response to the determination and aligns in time the audio frame with the video frame at one of the predetermined frame intervals.

Abstract: A heated fishing pole is provided. The device has a hollow elongated body including at least one hand grip, a first open end, and a second closed end, thereby defining an interior volume. At least one heating element in the interior volume is in thermal communication with the at least one hand grip. The heating element is powered by a power source which is in communication with the at least one heating element. A cap is removably securable to the first open end providing access to the interior volume. When the cap is secured to the first open end, a watertight seal is formed preventing water from getting into the interior volume. A control is disposed on an external surface of either the at least one hand grip or the cap, which can be used to select the amount of heat output from the heating element into the hand grip.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method includes receiving a plurality of question, answer, passage (QAP) triples. Each of the plurality of QAP triples includes a question, an answer to the question and a passage containing the answer to the question. The received plurality of QAP triples is parsed to generate two or more patterns. The generated patterns are merged together to identify clusters of semantically related patterns.

Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention are directed to a computer-implemented method for determining topic specific reliability for a question answering system. A non-limiting example of the computer-implemented method includes receiving a topic specific input query by the question answering system. The method further includes detecting a source that provides a reference containing the ground truth answers to the ground truth questions. The method further includes traversing sources detect similar references in other sources and assigning reliability scores for each source based upon ground truth answers in the other sources. The method further includes providing a ranked list of answers based upon the reliability of each source upon for each answer.

Abstract: A method for supplementing context in dialog flows for chatbot systems includes responsive to receiving identification information associated with a user and a topic for a chatbot conversation, initializing a chatbot conversation between a chatbot and the user. The method identifies a set of entities and a set of one or more relationships, wherein each relationship from the set one or more relationships is between two entities from the set of entities. The method determines an initial set of relevancy scores for each entity in the set of entities and the set of one or more relationships, wherein the initial set of relevancy scores are based at least on a domain for the topic of the chatbot conversation. The method generates a first response to the user based on the initial set of relevancy scores, wherein the first response includes at least one entity and at least one relationship.
