Patent number: 10603698Abstract: An airborne component extraction system includes a source of a positive pressure air stream and a source of a negative pressure air stream. The air streams are directed through conduits to a hood that distributes the positive pressure air stream into a work area, and that draws the negative pressure air stream from the work area to remove airborne components within the work area. Aspects of the hood offer greatly enhanced performance in creating a controlled region for component removal and for drawing and removing the components for the work area.Type: GrantFiled: February 14, 2013Date of Patent: March 31, 2020Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Brian J. Hammers, Adam Joseph Frank, William Maske, Bradley G. Carman, Daniel P. McDonald, Stanley Piotrowski, Gary Lind

Patent number: 7824087Abstract: A headlamp adjuster includes an output shaft driven by a co-rotatable gear. Threads on the shaft engage splines in a thin wall boss, the splines having limited circumferential engagement with the screw. The thin wall boss deflects outwardly in response to forces that build in the engagement of the shaft and splines, to release driving engagement between the splines and the shaft.Type: GrantFiled: May 19, 2008Date of Patent: November 2, 2010Assignee: Asyst Technologies, LLCInventors: Michael T. Gattone, Stanley Piotrowski, Kui-Chiu Kwok

The asset protection bag includes a first half and a second half which can be laid out flat. A first zipper profile of a water-resistant zipper is formed around the periphery of the first half and a second zipper profile of the water-resistant zipper is formed around the periphery of the second half. The first half is folded over the second half, with the asset therebetween, and the zipper profiles are interlocked. Vacuum ports are provided to allow for the evacuation of air trapped therewithin.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 4, 2009Publication date: June 17, 2010Applicant: ILLINOIS TOOL WORKS INC.Inventors: Henry L. Patent number: 7690090Abstract: The disclosure relates to a slider and a reclosable zipper, particularly a zipper with first and second profiles for watertight vessels, packages or similar devices. The slider is generally C-shaped with an upper arm, a lower arm, and a support wall in between. The support wall includes a groove which captures a rail formed on the first profile so that the slider can slidably move along the rail, riding the first profile. The lower arm includes separator blades which separate the first and second profiles when the slider is moved in the opening direction so as to urge the second profile between the upper and lower arms. When the slider is moved in the closing direction, the second profile travels between the upper and lower arms and is urged into engagement with the first profile by the upper arm. At the final closing position, the slider is stabilized or parked within a cut-out portion of the second profile.Type: GrantFiled: December 6, 2006Date of Patent: April 6, 2010Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.Inventors: Henry Swain, Edward Gayowski, Stanley Piotrowski, Lynnette Dehnke

Publication number: 20090308968Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a dispenser for use with rolls of film material, particularly coreless rolls. The mandrels of the dispenser can move between a retracted position wherein the dispenser has a reduced diameter, such as for when the dispenser is being inserted into a roll of film, and an increased diameter, such as for when the film is being dispensed from the dispenser. The mandrels have sections which are joined by various spring configurations and are formed as being axially slidable with respect to a central shaft with lug elements. As the mandrel is slid along the central shaft, the lug elements deflect the spring configurations outwardly so as move the mandrels radially outwardly and increase the radius of the dispenser.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2009Publication date: December 17, 2009Inventors: STANLEY PIOTROWSKI, Michael J. McMahon
