  • Publication number: 20140305409
Abstract: A fuel system comprises a first reservoir for a first fuel in liquid phase that has a first vapor pressure, and a second reservoir for a second fuel in liquid phase that has a second vapor pressure. The second vapor pressure is higher than the first vapor pressure. The fuel system further includes a mixing device for mixing the first fuel in liquid phase with the second fuel in liquid phase, and an injector which is hydraulically connected to the mixing device and is configured so that as, or immediately after, the mixture passes through an outlet opening of the injector, the second fuel changes from the liquid phase to a gaseous phase.

  • Patent number: 8444196
Abstract: A console is provided, in particular a central console for a vehicle, having a rail pair for the essentially horizontally displaceable accommodation of inserts of the console between the rails of the rail pair in guides of the rails, as well as a storage space between the inserts and the floor of the vehicle. For such a console, it is provided that the rails are implemented as freestanding brackets, the brackets at least being mounted in the floor of the vehicle, an essentially horizontally situated section of the particular bracket, which is distal from the floor, having at least one guide. Such a console offers high flexibility in regard to the storage space usable in this area with structurally simple design and may be advantageously used both with and also without the inserts in this aspect.

  • Publication number: 20090321541
Abstract: The fuel injector is characterized in that a multi-fan jet nozzle is disposed downstream of a valve-seat member having a fixed valve seat. The multi-fan jet nozzle is disk shaped, having a middle, bulged, crest-like nozzle area that has an elliptical elongation. In the nozzle area of the multi-fan jet nozzle used as an atomizer device, a plurality of directionally parallel spray-discharge slots is provided, which, for example, are arranged in a row. • Publication number: 20090206181
Abstract: A fuel injector includes an orifice plate situated downstream from a valve-seat body having a fixed valve seat, the orifice plate having at least one outlet opening. Provided directly upstream from the outlet openings is an inflow opening having an annular inflow cavity. The valve-seat body covers the inflow cavity in such a way that the downstream outlet openings of the orifice plate are covered. The inflow cavity directly upstream from the at least one outlet opening is configured such that the flow approaches the at least one outlet opening largely at a right angle to the longitudinal extension of the outlet opening. With regard to the cross section, the at least one outlet openings has a polygonal form, in particular one that encloses at least one triangle, or it has a meander shape with a plurality of curves in the outer contour. The fuel injector may be particularly suitable for use in fuel injection systems of the mixture-compressing internal combustion engines having external ignition.

  • Patent number: 7481201
Abstract: A fuel injector for fuel-injection systems of internal combustion engines includes a solenoid coil, a valve needle that is in operative connection with the solenoid coil and acted upon by a restoring spring in a closing direction in order to actuate a valve-closure member which forms a sealing seat together with a valve-seat surface formed at a valve-seat member, and at least two spray-discharge orifices, which are formed in the valve-seat member. In a discharge region, the spray-discharge orifices are in connection with capillaries formed in the end face of the valve-seat member.

  • Publication number: 20080035130
Abstract: Known fuel injectors have a valve-closure member, which cooperates with a sealing seat of a valve seat, and a flow exit region situated downstream from the sealing seat, the fuel spray generated by the fuel injectors having an average droplet diameter that is not small enough for future regulations governing exhaust emission. In the fuel injector according to the present invention the atomization is improved in a simple manner and the average droplet diameter is reduced without additional auxiliary power. The projections which influence the fuel flow are situated in the flow exit region.

  • Patent number: 7234654
Abstract: A fuel injector, in particular for the direct injection of fuel into a combustion chamber of an internal combustion engine, having a valve-closure member which cooperates with a valve-seat surface formed on a valve-seat body, to form a sealing seat, includes at least one spray-discharge orifice provided downstream from the sealing seat. The spray-discharge orifice has a guide region and an exit region arranged at its discharge-side end. The exit region widens in a stepped manner by at least one first step and/or at least in part continuously beginning with a transition from the guide region into the exit region. A fuel jet which emerges from the guide region at the transition and widens essentially uniformly at a jet angle, passes a discharge-side end of the exit region with a gap dimension of a gap after a distance s, the gap dimension being greater than zero and a first volume remaining in the exit region between the fuel jet and the inner walls of the exit region.

  • Patent number: 6902124
Abstract: A fuel injector, in particular, an injector for fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, having an actuator, which cooperates with a valve needle, has a first valve closure member that is arranged on the valve needle, the valve closure member cooperating with a first valve seat surface on a valve body forming a first sealing seat. A second valve closure member cooperates with a second valve seat surface in the valve seat body forming a second sealing seat. The valve needle, or the first valve closure member, has a limit stop, against which, after a partial stroke of the valve needle, a counter limit stop of the second valve closure member strikes, lifting the second valve closure member from the second sealing seat in response to a further stroke of the valve needle.
