Patent number: 8778054Abstract: A method for generating heat energy in a power plant by burning a carbonaceous fuel in a combustion chamber of the power plant and a system for carrying out the method is described. A combustion chamber is fluidly connected to a membrane chamber that includes a membrane operating at a temperature between 600 and 1000° C. The combustion chamber receives a cleaned flue-gas oxygen mixture for combustion from the membrane chamber. Oxygen from heated air passes through the membrane in the membrane chamber to the permeate side of the membrane, where it is mixed with cleaned heated flue gas and the resulting gas mixture is fed to the combustion chamber. Flue gas removed from the combustion chamber are cooled, cleaned and heated as described herein and recirculated to the membrane chamber.Type: GrantFiled: April 3, 2010Date of Patent: July 15, 2014Assignee: Forschungszentrum Juelich GmbHInventors: Jewgeni Nazarko, Ernst Riensche, Reinhard Menzer, Wilhelm Albert Meulenberg, Stefan Baumann

Publication number: 20110028169Abstract: The invention discloses a method for operating a communication terminal comprising a receiver chain (EK) with at least one receiver component (RXD) and with an amplifier device (LNA) connected upstream thereof for receiving broadcast radio signals transmitted in first time periods in a predetermined frequency band, and also a transmission device (SEM) for transmitting radio signals. The method has the following steps. First of all, the noise occurring upon transmission of the radio signals in the frequency band of the receiver chain is measured in the receiver chain and then the gain of the amplifier device is set on the basis of the measured noise such that a maximum signal level on the receiver component is not exceeded.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 27, 2006Publication date: February 3, 2011Applicant: PALM, INC.Inventors: Stefan Baumann, Jakob Sigg

Patent number: 6925104Abstract: Electrode columns made from carbon and graphite are screwed together from individual elements, for example, the electrodes and nipples. The elements have directionally structured contact surfaces. Such a structure of the contact surfaces gives rise to the elements of a column demonstrating increased resistance to loosening after intensive machine screwing or screwing applied by hand, which, therefore, is often inadequate, whereby a higher level of operational reliability is achieved, in particular, in the case of electrode columns that are screwed together by hand.Type: GrantFiled: January 26, 2004Date of Patent: August 2, 2005Assignee: SGL Carbon AGInventors: Stefan Baumann, Karl Wimmer
