  • Publication number: 20130273636
Abstract: It is desirable to produce live vaccines, which are highly attenuated and which do only contain minimal or no animal-derived components. The production of highly attenuated live viruses can be better achieved when using specifically designed cell lines as producer substrate as opposed to using less defined primary cells. However, live viruses, thus produced comprise undesirable components from the cell lines and cell culture. The present invention relates to methods of production and purification of live enveloped viruses, which are suitable for vaccination.

  • Patent number: 6726203
Abstract: An air assisted sheet guide device in a printing machine which is operable during either positive pressure (blast) air operation as well as suction air operation to permit reliable and stable sheet guidance with reduced air flow turbulence. The sheet guide device includes at least one module that defines a guide surface having air flow openings therein and an air flow channel, and a pneumatic system for creating either a positive or suction pressure generated air flow in the flow channel. One or more plate-like air directional elements are mounted within the air flow channel which create a uniform pressure distribution on the guide surface during positive (blast) air operation and which more uniformly direct air to the pneumatic system during suction pressure operation.

  • Patent number: 6516256
Abstract: An apparatus for storing data of a device, in particular of a motor vehicle, which is to be monitored, in which apparatus the data are preferably stored by means of a control unit in a memory unit. In an apparatus which permits a plurality of data which change continuously during the service life of the motor vehicle to be stored in an operationally reliable way and with a high processing speed, the fixed data and the continuously updated data of the apparatus which is to be monitored are stored in the memory unit 15 which contains the open-loop and/or closed-loop control processes.

  • Patent number: 6490491
Abstract: A method for programming a controller, in particular in a motor vehicle, which is switched from the operating mode to the programming mode by a signal which is supplied externally to the controller. In a method which ensures adequate protection against unauthorized reprogramming of the controller and is nevertheless simple to handle, the external signal is used to produce switching information in a programmable read only memory, which stores at least one operating program and/or data (which is updated at predetermined intervals) for the controller and causes the changeover to the programming mode when the controller is activated.

  • Patent number: 6027110
Abstract: A sheet-feeding device for the cyclic feeding of separated sheets from a sheet stack of a sheet feeder to a sheet processing machine or an onward conveying device is provided. The sheet-feeding device includes one or more first conveying rollers of relatively small diameter which are rotatably arranged close to the leading edge of the sheet stack of the sheet feeder and around which one or more endless drive tapes are guided, the latter starting from the first conveying roller, extending approximately in the conveying direction and wrapping around a second conveying roll that is arranged at a distance from the first conveying roller. The device also includes an upper conveying roller mounted above the first conveying roller for rotation about an axis parallel to the axis of the first conveying roller.

  • Patent number: 5107433
Abstract: A method inputting starting and destination points into an electronic navigation system for motor vehicles in which relevant data of street system maps comprising a street identification character and reference point coordinates with assigned house numbers, are stored in a data storage. When inputting, the street identification character and house number of the starting and destination point are entered, then the data storage is first searched for the street identification character and then for the inputted house number. When there is agreement with a house number of the reference points in the data storage its coordinates are taken over for navigation. When there is a disagreement, the reference points adjacent to it in the data storage are determined and the coordinates of the starting or destination point are determined by means of interpolation and used for navigation (FIG. 20).
