  • Patent number: 8019405
Abstract: A device for picture-providing diagnosis of tissue is selectively operated in a picture-providing white light diagnosis mode and a picture providing auto-fluorescence mode. A color camera having red, green, and blue sensors provides a monitor which picture signals. A light source emits fluorescence excitation light and additionally emits so much red light that the red light remitted by the tissue dominates the red fluorescence light in the picture providing auto-fluorescence mode. The signal from the red sensor of the camera is damped so that normal time appears green and pre-malignant and early malignant tissue appears red.

  • Publication number: 20110195420
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for screening compounds with estrogenic or anti-estrogenic activity by providing a cellular system of a sample thereof being capable of expressing at least a single gene of Table 1, incubating at least a portion of the system with compounds to be screened, and comparing an expression of the single gene of Table 1 in the system with the gene expression in a control cellular system. • Publication number: 20110192471
Abstract: A variable flow rate valve system adjusts flow rate using the flow medium itself by creating differential pressures that determine a position of a valve member in relation to an associated valve seat. The valve system includes a diaphragm that divides a valve chamber into a control chamber and a flow chamber connected with an inlet. A valve body is connected with the diaphragm and cooperates with a valve seat to modulate flow from the inlet to an outlet and through the flow chamber. A first pilot valve in a first bypass extends between the outlet and the control chamber, and a second pilot valve in a second bypass extends between the inlet and the control chamber. The valves are controlled to selectively open or close respective bypasses to vary the flow through the flow chamber between a fully open and a fully closed condition in response to a control signal.

  • Patent number: 7957492
Abstract: Wireless communication systems according to 3rd Generation standards allow for large flexibility in payload transmission. To signal the specific combination of transport block sizes multiplexed into one composite transport channel, a transport format combination indicator is transmitted in addition to the encoded payload data. The correct decoding of this transport format combination indicator codeword information is crucial to retrieve the correct number and size of transport blocks from the incoming data stream in the receiver, which can be both, the user equipment or the base station. The decoding apparatus (1) of the invention allows an in-time processing of the incoming data, while the decoding performance for the next codeword information is increased. Therefore, a codeword decision unit (15) determines a first codeword decision on the basis of a first codeword information received. This first codeword decision is usable for the processing of the first payload data.

Abstract: A technique for radio resource management is proposed for controlling a wireless transceiver in a cellular communication system that comprises a scheduling channel configured to transport relative scheduling grants for signalling adjustments in transmission resources previously granted to the wireless transceiver. A method embodiment of this technique comprises the steps of deriving an amplitude parameter indicative of an instantaneous amplitude level of the scheduling channel, determining a threshold value taking into account the amplitude parameter, processing a scheduling signal received over the scheduling channel to obtain a signal sample comprising a relative scheduling grant, and subjecting the signal sample to a threshold decision based on the threshold value to decode the relative scheduling grant.

  • Patent number: 7912162
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and devices are implemented according to a number of embodiments. According to one such embodiment, a method of synchronizing a receiver to a timing and carrier frequency of a communication system is implemented. A set of predetermined possible synchronization patterns is detected in a received signal. Timing and structure information is generated specifying the occurrence of detected ones of said predetermined set of possible synchronization patterns in said received signal. Channel coefficient estimations of different receiving channels are derived from the timing and structure information. A carrier frequency offset is determined for the received signal based on a comparison of predetermined ones of said derived channel coefficient estimates.
