  • Publication number: 20100102927
Abstract: The invention relates to a mobile identification device (10) of a security system for keyless activation of a closing device of a motor vehicle (40), having a housing (20) and a sensor display (30). An electronic unit with a transmitting and receiving unit is arranged in the housing (20) and communicates with a motor vehicle-side transmitting and receiving unit (41), by means of which an identification test can be carried out for determining a user's access rights. A surface (31) of the sensor display (30) allows the input and the output of information. According to the invention, it is proposed that the mobile identification device (10) has a pen-like input means (50) which allows for the input of information.

  • Patent number: 7677614
Abstract: In a device for operating locks (16) on doors or hatches of vehicles, a fixed support (10) is a arranged on the door. A moving unit (20) is mounted (11, 12), such as to pivot on the support (10), belonging to which is at least one handle (21). Spring loading (25, 26) ensures the unoperated moving unit (20) is held in a flat rest position on the support (10). On operating the handle, the moving unit (20) must be pivoted against said spring loading, whereby the lock (16) is operated. A damping unit (30) ensures that the returning moving unit (20) pivoting action is decelerated. A reliable, economical damping unit (30) is obtained, whereby an elastic body (31) is arranged in at least one position on the moving unit (20) which extends outwards with a projection (32). On the return movement (39) into the rest position the extending projection (32) is deformed against a fixed counter-surface (40), whereupon the movement energy is largely dissipated.

  • Publication number: 20100000272
Abstract: A construction unit (35) comprising a support (30) and a locking cylinder (20) is present in the device and is secured from the inner door side (11) behind the outer door lining (15). Those parts of the locking cylinder which project on the outer door side are covered by a cap which is secured on the inner door side (11) by securing means. In order to simplify the handling and to save space, it is proposed to use the securing means for the cap at the same time in order to also secure the construction unit (35) on the inner door side (11).

  • Publication number: 20090223264
Abstract: A locking cylinder comprises a two-part housing, comprising an upper part and a lower part. A cylinder core (20) is received in said housing and can be actuated by turning a key. The housing of the locking cylinder is fastened to the body of a vehicle (34) by fastening means (30). The aim of the invention is to reduce the space required by and simplify handling of the locking cylinder. For this purpose, the fastening means (30) used to fasten (34) the housing of the locking cylinder on the body is also used as a connecting means for fastening the housing upper part on the housing lower part.

  • Patent number: 7260964
Abstract: An actuating device for a door or hatch of a vehicle includes a carrier for moving a slide between a locking position and a release position for locking a turret to be inserted into an opening of the carrier in a desired inserted position. The slide is provided on its front side in the pull-out direction with a lobe which includes a radially outer surface pointing away from the inserted turret. The turret has an opposing lobe facing the insertion direction, wherein the opposing lobe is arranged at a radial distance from the adjacent circumferential zone of the turret and includes a radially inner surface facing the turret. When the turret is moved into the locking position, the lobe travels into a radial distance from the slide and is moved behind the opposing lobe where the lobe rests with its radially outer surface on the radially inner surface of the opposing lobe.

  • Patent number: 7158044
Abstract: A handle on doors, hoods, or the like especially for vehicles, with a stationary handle part, which can be mounted in a recess in the outer skin of the door, with a gripping element, which acts as a movable handle part and is supported on the stationary handle part, with an electrode of an electrical field-generating capacitor, located in the area of the stationary handle part, and with an electronic circuit for generating and monitoring this electrical field. The electronic circuit responds to the approach of a human hand to the gripping element and, if the response is positive, initiates defined functions in the motor vehicle. The electrode of the capacitor is integrated into a supplemental housing, and the supplemental housing is selectively locatable on the surface of the stationary handle part by the connector.

  • Patent number: 6712409
Abstract: A door handle for vehicles includes a connecting member adapted to act on a lock when the handle is actuated, and a normally inactive crash locking unit for the connecting member. A crash sensor is connected to the crash locking unit so as to activate the crash locking unit in the event of a crash, so that the crash locking unit blocks the connecting member and the inertia forces which act to actuate the handle are not transmitted to the lock. The connecting member includes a drive member movable together with the connecting member, and the drive member is mounted in a liquid medium so as to be moved in this medium when the connecting member is moved. The viscosity of the medium changes in dependence on an electrical field acting in the medium. The crash sensor controls the electrical field prevailing in the medium.

  • Patent number: 6648382
Abstract: An outer door handle for vehicles has a stationary housing in the vehicle door. The handle has a handle arm and acts on a lock arranged within the door. A pivotable latching member serves as a mass latching mechanism and makes the handle actuatable in a release position. Because of its inertia in a crash situation, the latching member reaches an active support position and blocks the handle. The pivot bearing for the latching member is located on the stationary housing. The movable handle arm has a shoulder. A counter shoulder is provided on the latching member. The folding movement path of the shoulder on the handle arm is intersected by the pivot movement path of the counter shoulder. In a crash situation the shoulder comes to rest against the counter shoulder. In the release position, the shoulder passes the counter shoulder upon handle actuation.

  • Patent number: 6644074
Abstract: A kit for an external vehicle door handle has a carrier fastened at an inner side of a door panel and a handle mounted on the carrier from the exterior of the door. The carrier has a pivotable bearing arm with a coupling receptacle and the handle has a shaft end with a coupling plug engaging the coupling receptacle of the bearing arm during mounting of the handle. A locking device accessible through a hole in a door folding secures in a locking position the coupling plug and the coupling receptacle for coupling the handle and the bearing arm. The bearing arm has a spring-loaded locking member with a locking location and the coupling plug has a matching counter locking location. The locking device has an adjustable obstacle projecting into the restoring path of the locking member and locking the locking member engaging the counter locking member.

  • Patent number: 6619709
Abstract: The invention relates to a door handle, comprising a handle located on the visible side of the door and a support (10) for said handle which is fixed onto the reverse side of the door. The handle has connecting elements at both extremities which penetrate recesses in the door, whereby one extremity is connected to a lever (13′) which is mounted on a pivoting support (10). A housing which can contain a locking cylinder is inserted into the support (10) next to the handle. According to the invention, in order to simplify the assembly of the handle, a retaining element (25) is positioned between the support (10) and the lever (13′) which, in its usual active retaining position, secures the lever in a defined pivoted position, pointing outwards. The handle can be connected easily to the lever in this pivoted position. However, when the housing is inserted into the support, the retaining element (25) is displaced into its inactive position, where it releases the lever (13′).
