    Abstract: In a wireless communication system (100), an access node (110) configures, for a user equipment, UE (105), each symbol in a slot (68a) individually as one of multiple possible symbol types. The types including an uplink symbol, a downlink symbol, and a different symbol. The access node (110) transmits, to the UE (105), a slot format indicator, SFI, specifying a number of downlink symbols in the slot (68a) and a number of uplink symbols in the slot (68a), and indicating whether or not the slot (68a) includes an unspecified number of different symbols. The UE (105) receives, from the access node (110), the SFI for the slot (68a), and determines the type of each of the symbols in the slot (68a) based on the number of uplink symbols and the number of downlink symbols.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates power control in wireless communications, to methods for open loop power control for setting the initial uplink transmission power for a wireless device capable of operating in multiple frequency bands. The disclosure includes methods for transmitting an uplink signal in an uplink channel of a first frequency band using an initial transmission power based on measurements of reference signals in the first frequency band when the received downlink channel is in a second frequency band not overlapping with the first frequency band. The disclosure also relates to corresponding devices and to a computer program for executing the proposed methods.     Abstract: A guard period for switching between uplink and downlink subframes is created by shortening an uplink subframe, i.e., by not transmitting during one or more symbol intervals at the beginning of the subframe interval. A grant message includes signaling indicating when a shortened subframe should be transmitted. An example method is implemented in a first wireless node configured to transmit data in transmit subframes occurring at defined subframe intervals and having a predetermined number of symbol intervals. This example method includes determining (1620) that a transmit subframe is to be shortened, relative to the predetermined number of symbol intervals and, in response to this determination, shortening (1630) transmission of the transmit subframe by not transmitting during a beginning portion of the subframe interval for the transmit subframe and transmitting during the remainder of the subframe interval.

In some embodiments, a method for a wireless device in a wireless communications system comprises receiving control information comprising information pertaining to whether the wireless device should partially clear a soft buffer for a HARQ process, deciding whether to partially clear the soft buffer for the HARQ process based on the information comprised in the control information, and partially clearing the soft buffer for the HARQ process upon deciding to partially clear the soft buffer for the HARQ process. In this manner, corrupted soft information can be cleared from the soft buffer while retaining uncorrupted soft information in the soft buffer.
