  • Patent number: 11716180
Abstract: Limited uplink bandwidth radio network devices are supported on wide bandwidth uplink carriers by configuring and controlling the use of multiple control regions within the uplink carrier bandwidth. In some embodiments, the total bandwidth of the uplink carrier is divided into a plurality of sub-band portions, wherein each sub-band portion includes at least one control region nominally dedicated to the transmission of uplink control signaling. Radio network devices are configured with a specified portion of the uplink carrier bandwidth for use for uplink transmission, which includes at least one control region. Radio network devices may be provisioned or provided with information regarding control regions reserved for control signaling by other radio network devices. The radio network devices may be dynamically configured to allow or suppress uplink data signaling in specified control regions, or portions thereof.

  • Publication number: 20230239889
Abstract: A guard period for switching between uplink and downlink subframes is created by shortening an uplink subframe, i.e., by not transmitting during one or more symbol intervals at the beginning of the subframe interval. A grant message includes signaling indicating when a shortened subframe should be transmitted. An example method is implemented in a first wireless node configured to transmit data in transmit subframes occurring at defined subframe intervals and having a predetermined number of symbol intervals. This example method includes determining that a transmit subframe is to be shortened, relative to the predetermined number of symbol intervals and, in response to this determination, shortening transmission of the transmit subframe by not transmitting during a beginning portion of the subframe interval for the transmit subframe and transmitting during the remainder of the subframe interval.

  • Publication number: 20230189283
Abstract: A communication device receives an uplink grant from a node of a cellular network. The uplink grant indicates uplink radio resources allocated to the communication device in reoccurring time intervals. For each of these time intervals, the communication device selects between an active mode and an inactive mode. In the active mode the communication device performs an uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources. In the inactive mode the communication device performs no uplink transmission in the allocated uplink radio resources.
