Publication number: 20160342983Abstract: Systems and techniques are provided for a resource transfer system. An instruction to transfer a first quantity of a resource from a first resource pool to a second resource pool may be received. A hold may be placed on a second quantity of the resource in the first resource pool. The held second quantity of the first resource may not be transferred from the first resource pool until the hold is released. Responsive to receiving a message that fulfills a condition on the hold and an instruction to execute the transfer, the hold may be released. A register that is in the first resource pool and is associated with the resource may decremented by the first quantity, and a register that is in the second resource pool and is associated with the resource may be incremented by the first quantity.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 5, 2015Publication date: November 24, 2016Inventors: Stefan Thomas, Evan Schwartz, Robert Way

Publication number: 20160263264Abstract: A sterilization indicator for a sterile container includes a shape-memory element in the form of a compression spring, which, when a predetermined temperature is reached or exceeded, subjects an indicating unit to a defined axial compressive force. The indicating unit is biased by a restoring spring in the counter-direction of the shape-memory element by way of a restoring force which is smaller than the defined axial compressive force. A latching mechanism can be actuated by a closing or locking mechanism of the sterile container. Following or during the closing or locking of the sterile container, the latching mechanism retains the indicating unit in a sterile position, once the unit has been moved into the sterile position by the shape-memory element. Upon opening or unlocking of the sterile container below the sterilization temperature, it frees the indicating unit, whereupon the restoring spring moves the indicating unit back into an unsterile position.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 22, 2014Publication date: September 15, 2016Applicant: Aesculap AGInventors: Peter Schulz, Stefan Schuster, Stefan Thomas

Publication number: 20160166798Abstract: The present invention relates to a mouthpiece for controlled delivery of a breathing gas including oxygen, preferably an increased ratio of oxygen with respect to ambient air, to the respiratory tracts of a user comprising a valve having two modes; a closed default mode, which substantially impedes any flow of the breathing gas through the valve; and an active open mode, which allows for a substantial flow of the breathing gas through the valve, wherein the open mode can be activated by the user manipulating the valve with his/her mouth. The invention also relates to the use of such a valve in a device for delivery of breathing gas and further to an apparatus for controlled delivery of the breathing gas to the respiratory tracts of a user. Finally, the invention also relates to a method for controlled delivery of the breathing gas to the respiratory tracts of a user.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 19, 2016Publication date: June 16, 2016Inventor: Stefan Thomas SCHÄTZL

Publication number: 20090285390Abstract: The various embodiments herein disclosed include a method wherein an integrated circuit (100) may receive a code image from an external device (127), encrypt the code image using a cryptographic logic (113) with a Hardware Unique Key to create a Hardware Unique Code Image (119) where the Hardware Unique Key is inaccessible to the external device (127). The integrated circuit (100) will then store the Hardware Unique Code Image wherein the Hardware Unique Code Image is executable only after decryption using the Hardware Unique Key. The method also includes sending a command to a cryptographic logic (113) to request decryption of the Hardware Unique Code Image by the cryptographic logic (113) using the Hardware Unique Key and executing the Hardware Unique Code Image by the boot software (103) after the decryption.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 16, 2008Publication date: November 19, 2009Applicant: ATI Technologies ULCInventors: Stefan Thomas Scherer, Denis Foley, Alwyn Dos Remedios

Patent number: 6772886Abstract: The present invention relates to a bank note sorting apparatus. Known such apparatuses have the disadvantage of not being user-friendly since the transport path of the bank notes is not readily accessible to a user due to the elaborate mechanical design of the transport system. Bank notes that block the transport system due to faulty transport can therefore not be readily removed. In the present invention this disadvantage is avoided by the bank note sorting apparatus consisting of at least three parts, with one part disposed in the middle and at least two parts removable therefrom, thereby obtaining easy access to the transport system.Type: GrantFiled: August 16, 2002Date of Patent: August 10, 2004Assignee: Giesecke & DeVrient GmbHInventors: Frank Werner, Alois Wagner, Markus Sperl, Ralf Linck, Hermann Weilacher, Stefan Thoma, Hermann Gessler
