  • Patent number: 6846649
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods of producing and/or isolating MBL compositions. In particular the invention relates to methods of producing and/or isolating novel recombinant human MBL preparations with high similarity to natural human MBL. The MBL preparations may be used in compositions, medicaments and in methods for treatment of conditions such as those related to immunosuppressive conditions and/or to conditions of MBL deficiencies including latent conditions. • Patent number: 6799438
Abstract: A microstructure is formed in a viscous glass or plastic substrate by pressing a structured surface of a forming tool corresponding to a negative of the microstructure to be produced in the viscous glass or plastic substrate. After the microstructure has been formed, the forming tool is removed from the surface. In order to help form the microstructure and remove the forming tool from the substrate the forming tool has an at least partially porous base body (1) and an operative layer (2) structured with a negative structure consisting of grooves (11) extending to the porous base body (1). The forming of the microstructure in the substrate is assisted by applying suction to the porous base body (1) so that the grooves (11) fill more easily and completely with melted glass or plastic material. The removal of the forming tool after forming the microstructure is assisted by applying an overpressure to the porous body to help release the solidified glass or plastic material from the forming tool.

  • Publication number: 20040038297
Abstract: The present invention relates to substantially pure mannin-binding lectin associated serine protease-2 (MASP-2) polypeptides and fragments thereof as well as nucleic acids encoding such polpeptides. Futhermone, the present invention realates to uses of a substantially pure polypeptide comprising amino acid sequences derived from mannan-binding lectin associated serine protease-2 (MASP2) or a functional homologue thereof for the production of a pharmaceutical composition as well as pharmaceutical compositons comprising MASP-2 and/or MASP-2 fragments. In addition the present invetion relates to inhibitors of MASP-2 and pharmaceutical compositiosn compring such inhibitors. Methods for detecting MASP-2 nucleic acid expression are included in the invention.

  • Publication number: 20030191052
Abstract: The present invention relates to the use of a composition comprising at least one mannan-binding lectin (MBL) subunit, or at least one mannan-binding lectin (MBL) oligomer comprising the at least one mannan-binding lectin (MBL) subunit, in the manufacture of a medicament for prophylaxis and/or treatment of infection. In particular the invention relates to prophylaxis and/or treatment of infection in an individual having an immunocompromised condition; and/or an individual being at risk of acquiring an immunocompromised condition resulting from a medical treatment. The present invention is particular relevant for prophylaxis and/or treatment of infection in individuals suffering from neutropenia, in particular as prophylaxis and/or treatment of infection in individuals receiving or going to receive chemotherapy or similar treatment.

  • Publication number: 20020011550
Abstract: The forming tool for making glass or plastic products has a cooling system and is made by a method including first determining shape and position of interior spaces for cooling ducts or cooling chambers (8) of the cooling system in the forming tool, according to required location-dependent cooling performance in the cooling system; providing a vacuum-tight sealed capsule (4) containing at least two materials (6,7) in which the interior spaces having the appropriate shape and position are formed by providing predetermined bounding surfaces (5) between the at least two materials, wherein one of the materials is a heat-resistant filling material (6) that is soluble in a liquid; subjecting the vacuum-tight sealed capsule to a hot-isostatic-pressing process to form a combined body within the capsule (4), in which the filling material (6) is incorporated; then working the combined body to form a required predetermined outer surface of the forming tool and removing the filling material (6) from the combined body to
