  • Publication number: 20180016887
Abstract: An apparatus for measuring a well bore wall comprises a casing connectable in line with a tool string having a central passage therethrough and extending between first and second ends and a plurality of longitudinally extending biasing elements extending longitudinally along the casing between first and second ends wherein each of the second end of the biasing elements is connected to the casing. The apparatus further comprises a sensor located along a midpoint of each of the biasing elements and an engagement body located within the central passage of the casing longitudinally displaceable therein between first and second positions, wherein the engagement body is connected to the first end of each of the biasing elements such that displacement of the engagement body within the central passage from the first to the second positions compresses and radially extends the biasing elements so as to engage the sensors against the well bore wall.

  • Publication number: 20180015395
Abstract: A self-cleaning filter includes a housing disposing a filter media having a permeable sidewall and an axial bore connected with the inlet conduit, a sleeve connected in-line with the axial bore and downstream of the inlet conduit, and a shuttle having a piston moveably disposed in the sleeve and an upstream element carrying a scraper disposed with the axial bore, whereby the hydraulic fluid flows from the inlet conduit through the permeable sidewall into the housing annulus and the hydraulic pressure in the axial bore applies a downward force on the shuttle. The scraper is moved downstream within axial bore to clean the filter media when the downward force due to the increased differential pressure across the filter media exceeds an upstream shuttle force.

  • Patent number: 9358966
Abstract: A system and method for detecting a pre-charge pressure of a hydraulic braking system are disclosed. A controller receives pressure readings from a pressure sensor indicative of the pressure of a hydraulic brake accumulator or the lower pressure of more than one accumulator. In response to fluid being provided to the hydraulic accumulator, the controller determines a first rate of pressure change, a second rate of pressure change different than the first rate, and a transition pressure between the first and second rates. The controller determines an approximate pre-charge pressure of the hydraulic brake accumulator based on the transition pressure. A warning can be provided to the operator or another when the determined pre-charge pressure is lower than a reference pressure.
