  • Patent number: 10260214
Abstract: A slewing assist system for a machine having an upper body structure supported on an undercarriage structure includes a central rotation member. The central rotation member is rotatably coupled to undercarriage structure. A slip member is concentrically coupled to central rotation member and allows a relative rotational motion. At least one pin is coupled to slip member and engages slip member in expanded position such that central rotation member and slip member rotate together. A lever arm is fixedly coupled to slip member. A first end and a second end of an actuating element are coupled to lever arm and upper structure, respectively. The slewing assist system provides additional slewing assist to upper body structure by engaging slip member and central rotation member through pin. • Patent number: 10260331
Abstract: A control system that corrects differential pressure measurements with downhole annulus pressure information is disclosed. When differential pressure is zeroed with the BHA off-bottom, the annulus pressure value is baselined. During drilling, a controller receives surface differential pressure measurements and annulus pressure measurements. As the controller receives each new annulus pressure measurement, it compares it to the baseline annulus pressure value to obtain a different annulus pressure value. The controller corrects the surface differential pressure measurements with the annulus pressure measurements. As the controller receives each new surface differential pressure measurement, it subtracts out the current difference annulus pressure value. As a result, the modified surface differential pressure measurement remains a reflection of mud motor performance that removes the influence of the increased density of the fluid, thereby improving autodrilling control.

  • Patent number: 10258079
Abstract: A smoking article, such as a cigarette, includes a carbonaceous heat source. A mouth end piece segment is located at the mouth end of the smoking article, and the mouth end piece segment allows the smoking article to be placed in the mouth of the smoker to be drawn upon. The smoking article further incorporates an aerosol-generating segment located between the heat generation segment and the mouth end piece segment. The aerosol-generating segment incorporates an aerosol-forming material (e.g., glycerin and flavors). The heat generation segment is in a heat exchange relationship with the aerosol-generating region such that heat generated by the burning fuel element acts to volatilize aerosol-forming material for aerosol formation. The carbonaceous heat source is in intimate contact with coarse, fine or ultrafine particles of materials such as cerium oxide, or mixtures of cerium oxide and palladium chloride.

  • Patent number: 10261179
Abstract: A radar system has different modes of operation. In one mode, the radar operates as a single-input, multiple output (SIMO) radar system utilizing one transmitted signal from one antenna at a time. Codes with known excellent autocorrelation properties are utilized in this mode. At each receiver the response after correlating with various possible transmitted signals is measured in order to estimate the interference that each transmitter will represent at each receiver. The estimated effect of the interference from one transmitter to a receiver that correlates with a different code is used to mitigate the interference. In another mode, the radar operates as a multi-input, multiple-output (MIMO) radar system utilizing all the antennas at a time. Interference cancellation of the nonideal cross-correlation sidelobes when transmitting in the MIMO mode are employed to remove ghost targets due to unwanted sidelobes.

  • Patent number: 10264193
Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods are disclosed for providing composite images and/or videos having a high dynamic range. The apparatus includes a video capture module for capturing video images of a scene at a differing exposure levels. The apparatus further includes a region identification module for identifying regions in the captured video images of the scene that may benefit from being individually optimally-exposed. The apparatus further includes a region adjustment module for updating the positions of the various identified regions within the scene and a region exposure adjustment module for determining optimal exposure settings for the various identified regions of the scene. A video subsystem composites and encodes the various optimally-exposed regions of the scene onto a video image of a static portion of the scene having a high dynamic range that was, e.g., captured at a different moment in time than the various optimally-exposed regions of the scene.
