  • Publication number: 20090106735
Abstract: A method for generating a sequence of instructions comprises determining one or more time values, accessing a pool of markup language fragments, and processing the markup language fragments according to the or each time value. The output of the processed fragments is then combined into a sequence of time-stamped instructions either as a single file or as a number of device-specific files. A system implementing the method is also described.

  • Publication number: 20090018889
Abstract: A method for administering performance of a contract over a data network includes storing a lien waiver and receiving an application for payment over the data network from a contract participant based on performance under the contract. The stored lien waiver is retrieved and sent to the participant via the data network upon approval of the application for payment. • Publication number: 20080169961
Abstract: Techniques for detecting contraband are described, as are techniques for generating an image of living tissue. A location of interest relative to a target space is received, and a radar signal is transmitted in the direction of the location of interest. Portions of the radar signal are detected with multiple receiving structures. The detected portions are processed to generate information corresponding to dielectric or loss properties, the properties corresponding to particular positions within the target space. A determination is made as to whether contraband is present in the target space based on the determined properties.

  • Patent number: 7345618
Abstract: Sensing moving entities includes transmitting a stepped-frequency radar signal including multiple frequencies through a wall from a first side of the wall to a second side of the wall. Portions of the radar signal that are reflected by entities located beyond the second side of the wall are detected. The reflected portions are processed to generate processed data including information associated with frequency shifts between the transmitted signal and the detected signal. The processed data is analyzed to determine if reflected portions are associated with moving entities.

  • Publication number: 20070255580
Abstract: A lending system for lending an econtent item comprises a library server having a processor and a number of databases. Borrowers can access the system using a PDA or other suitable communications device over a communications network. Each econtent item has a number of loan instances allocated to it, and the econtent item can be made available to borrowers up to a maximum number of predetermined loan instances over a set period of time. A single loan instances can be typically defined as a period of between 5 minutes and 24 hours to a single borrower, with an econtent item having an allocation of a set number of loan instances per calendar year, for example, 325 loan instances. This allows the econtent item to be made available to multiple concurrent users or single users as long as the number of loan instances has not been exceeded in any given year.

  • Publication number: 20060212316
Abstract: A system and method are provided for obtaining medical data from a user, analyzing it and providing a feedback message. Existing home medical devices are connected to a data translation device which transmits the data to a cellular phone. The cellular phone transmits the data to a server where it is analyzed and a feedback message is transmitted back to the phone.

  • Publication number: 20060173619
Abstract: Systems and methodologies that facilitate a search for construction equipment(s) (e.g., a welding terminal) via a locator component that searches a networked area as defined by a plurality of reference points. Upon locating a network address of the construction unit, a physical location of such unit on the network, or the reference points, can also be determined via employing technologies such as a Global Positioning System (GPS), angle and Time Difference of a Signal's Arrival (TDOA), probabilistic analysis of strength of a wireless signal with respect to the reference points and the like. Also, a composition of welding equipments employed on the construction site can be determined and/or configured.

  • Publication number: 20050165818
Abstract: Techniques to repair overflow rows in a relational database table are described. In one implementation, a source table's physical memory pages are interrogated to identify overflow rows. In another implementation, overflow rows generated during database update operations are identified from non-table sources (e.g., log files). In general, overflow rows are repaired by: unloading one or more rows identified as overflow rows; locking the source table from outside access; disabling or deleting any associations associated with the unloaded rows; deleting the identified overflow/unloaded rows from the source table; reloading the previously unloaded rows back into the source table; restoring any associations previously disabled/deleted; and unlocking the tables. Rows may be processed in groups small enough not to significantly impact users accessing either the source or associated tables.

  • Publication number: 20050121044
Abstract: The present invention provides catalyst compositions, articles of manufacture incorporating the catalyst compositions and methods for producing catalyst compositions. The catalyst compositions comprise a substrate and ultrafine particles. Disclosed articles of manufacture include filter apparatus, such as those utilized in gas masks or smoking articles. Also disclosed are smoking articles comprising the catalyst compositions of the present invention.

  • Publication number: 20050112794
Abstract: A bond pad upon which a wirebond interconnection is formed, consisting of a first bond pad layer formed on a chip, and a second bond pad layer formed on the first bond pad layer, wherein the first bond pad layer is more resistant to removal than the second bond pad layer during probe testing, and the first bond pad layer increases resistance to interconnection failure during mechanical testing.

  • Publication number: 20050073910
Abstract: Representative embodiments provide for a computer including a program code configured to cause a processor to invert and thereafter calibrate first and second data sets, subtract the inverted second data set from the inverted first data set to derive a time-lapse data set, calculate a model including a plurality of parametric values, sort the plurality of parametric values into a plurality of bins, select, map and calibrate a plurality of optimal parametric values from the plurality of bins, and plot the plurality of calibrated optimal parametric values to represent at least one physical characteristic of a subterranean reservoir of hydrocarbons. The method includes deriving a time-lapse data set from a first seismic data set and a second seismic data set, deriving a model, sorting the plurality of values into bins, selecting, mapping and calibrating a plurality of optimal values from the bins, and plotting the calibrated values.

  • Patent number: 5314829
Abstract: Imaging biological molecules such as DNA at rates several times faster than conventional imaging techniques is carried out using a patterned silicon wafer having nano-machined grooves which hold individual molecular strands and periodically spaced unique bar codes permitting repeatably locating all images. The strands are coaxed into the grooves preferably using gravity and pulsed electric fields which induce electric charge attraction to the molecular strands in the bottom surfaces of the grooves. Differential imaging removes substrate artifacts.

  • Patent number: 5244030
Abstract: Electrically operated folding operable walls are provided that are controlled by an electrical operation circuit of the type having a key switch, a control panel, an extend limit switch, a stack limit switch, control relays and a motor. The invention consists of a mechanism for creating an infrared barrier curtain on opposite sides of an operating path of the folding operable walls. Another mechanism is for shutting down the electrical operation circuit of the folding operable walls when a physical obstruction enters into the operating path of the folding operable walls and interrupts the infrared barrier curtain. Still another mechanism is for restarting up the electrical operation circuit of the folding operable walls after the physical obstruction is removed from the operating path of the folding operable walls.
