    Abstract: A content asset manager (CAM) system manages content to be developed. CAM includes a data repository storing static assets and page assets operable to be used in a web site developed in a code editing system. A web service interfaces the CAM system with the code editing system and provides the code editing system with access to at least some of the static assets stored in the data repository through a user interface in the code editing system and provides code, including at least one of the static assets, for the web site developed in the code editing system to the CAM system. A slot database includes a plurality of independent slots, and a slot stores data to be used for the web site at runtime. A content manager retrieves the code for the web site from the data repository and stores the code for the web site in the slot for the web site in the slot database. The web site may be deployed using data in the slot.
