  • Patent number: 11921555
Abstract: A method may include coupling a device to a host through a connector, receiving, by a host controller, a request for boost power from the device, determining, by the host controller, an amount of surplus power available from one or more power sources arranged to provide power to the device through the connector, and allocating at least a portion of the surplus power to the device as boost power. The method may further include negotiating an amount of the boost power based on the amount of surplus power available from the one or more power sources. • Publication number: 20240073853
Abstract: Disclosed are techniques for communication. In an aspect, a location server receives, from a network entity serving a reference device, a registration request for the reference device to operate as a reference location device (RLD), the registration request including one or more parameters enabling the location server to communicate with the reference device via a positioning protocol, instigates a positioning procedure with the reference device via the positioning protocol based on the one or more parameters; receives one or more reference positioning measurements from the reference device during the positioning procedure via the positioning protocol; and determines one or more correction terms for positioning one or more user equipments (UEs) based, at least in part, on a location of the reference device and the one or more reference positioning measurements.

  • Patent number: 11914058
Abstract: The positioning capabilities of a User Equipment (UE) are stored in a core network to reduce positioning latency when the UE indicates that its positioning capabilities are stable and/or are long term valid. The UE may provide its positioning capabilities to a location server during a location session along with an indication of whether the positioning capabilities are stable. The location server may enable storage of the positioning capabilities for the UE in the core network, e.g., in the location server or another entity in the core network such as Access and Mobility Management Function (AMF), if there is an indication that the positioning capabilities are stable. The AMF may include a UE identifier in location requests with which the location server may retrieve the UE positioning capabilities if stored at the location server or may include the UE positioning capabilities if stored at the AMF.

  • Patent number: 11809799
Abstract: A Lightweight Bridge (LWB) is disclosed. The LWB may be a circuit. An endpoint of the LWB that may expose a plurality of Physical Functions (PFs) to a host. A root port of the LWB may connect to a device and determine the PFs and Virtual Functions (VFs) exposed by the device. An Application Layer-Endpoint (APP-EP) and an Application Layer-Root Port (APP-RP) may translate between the PFs exposed by the endpoint and the PFs/VFs exposed by the device. • Patent number: 11733764
Abstract: A device capable of self-detecting and self-allocating additional power and associated method are disclosed. The device includes a first module to route current from first power pins to a voltage rail having the first voltage level. The device includes a second module coupled to second power pins associated with a second voltage level. The second module routes current from the second power pins to the voltage rail having the first voltage level via a connecting voltage rail. The method includes determining, by the device, whether or not a presence of unused power pins is detected. Based on the detection, the method includes calculating a total amount of available additional power, repurposing the unused power pins as actively used power pins, and updating a power budget value based on the total amount of available additional power. The device may dynamically allocate power to accelerators based on a power allocation table and the power budget value.

  • Publication number: 20210153590
Abstract: In an aspect, a stress mitigation system is provided for mitigating stresses in a wearer of a headgear configured to apply a load on the wearer that is offset from a CG of a wearer's head. The system includes a first and second cable segments, and a tensioning device. Each cable segment has a first end and a second end, mounted to one of the headgear and the bodywear member respectively. The first ends are laterally inboard and vertically spaced from the second ends. During pivoting of the head in a first direction, the first cable segment changes orientation towards vertical and the second cable segment changes orientation towards horizontal, and during pivoting movement of the head in a second direction. The tensioning device increases tension in any cable segment that changes orientation towards vertical, and reduces tension in any cable segment that changes orientation towards horizontal.

  • Patent number: 10585749
Abstract: A system and method for distributed erasure coding. A plurality of storage devices is directly connected to one or more host computers, without an intervening central controller distributing data to the storage devices and providing data protection. Parity codes are stored in one or more dedicated storage devices or distributed over a plurality of the storage devices. When a storage device receives a write command, it calculates a partial parity code, and, if the parity code for the data being written is on another storage device, sends the partial parity code to the other storage device, which updates the parity code using the partial parity code.
