  • Publication number: 20170174951
Abstract: An adhesive system which includes a layer of a first adhesive overlaid and joined to a layer of a second adhesive. The layer of first adhesive and the layer of second adhesive are preferably joined by being fixed to opposite surfaces of a planar carrier element. The carrier element is preferably a high heat resistant plastics film. In one form of the invention the plastics film is PET.

  • Publication number: 20170143316
Abstract: Apparatus for safely and accurately positioning the fingertip of a physician (or technician) performing a biopsy procedure, e.g., to excise a core tissue samples of the male prostate or other internal organs, to avoid injury (e.g., a needle stick) from the sharpened distal end of a biopsy needle assembly. Such apparatus comprises an open tubular member defining an elongated passageway through which a biopsy needle assembly, when actuated, can be made to pass and to extend a predetermined distance along an external path in order to effect the core sampling of a biological mass of interest. The tubular housing supports a safety flange at its distal end, such flange having a flat surface adapted to be engaged by the fingertip of the physician prior to actuation of the biopsy needle assembly.

  • Publication number: 20170106432
Abstract: A die is supported in a die holder such as a frame or an adapter supported in a frame such that it is operational use in a material deforming operation. One or both of the die and the die holder have at least one gas passage which is substantially closed by at least part of the die. Gas such as pressurised air is directed into an end of the gas passage opposite the die via a hose connected to a gas source. If the die is broken or loose leak paths are available for the escape of gas past the die to or from atmosphere. A pressure sensor connected to the hose detects the change in pressure of the gas and the magnitude of that pressure is used to determine the die condition. Alternatively a flow rate sensor is used to detect a change in the flow rate of the gas in order to determine the condition of the die.

  • Publication number: 20170065118
Abstract: The disclosed technology is a kettle supported by a base, with a burner mounted to the base and positioned below the bottom of the kettle. The kettle generally has a rounded bottom and straight sidewalls, although various curved portions of the kettle sidewalls are possible including a purely semispherical section. The kettle is provided with a U-shaped handle on each side which provides a gripping handle and also provides a means of rotating the kettle. The stand includes two grooves in a side portion, and the kettle can be tipped to one side and rotated to pour out the contents of the kettle, with the groove providing stability while the kettle is rotated to one side. The kettle rotates at a point which is not the center point of the kettle.

  • Publication number: 20160335298
Abstract: A method for generating a tree structure with nodal comparison fields and cut values for rapid tree traversal and reduced numbers of full information item comparisons at leaf nodes is disclosed. The method is implemented in a computing device including a processor and a memory. The method includes receiving, by the processor, an information item set for processing information units. The method further includes selecting, by the processor, fields in the information item set and determining distribution frequencies of values of the fields. The method further includes using, by the processor, the distribution frequencies to assign cut values and comparison fields to non-leaf nodes in the tree structure. The method further includes assigning, by the processor, information items in the information item set to leaf nodes in the tree structure using the cut values and the comparison fields.

  • Publication number: 20160249691
Abstract: Described are articles of wear having a base layer, a plurality of cooling zones positioned on the base layer so that substantially all of the plurality of cooling zones are positioned adjacent regions of a wearer's body having highly efficient heat transfer properties of a wearer when worn, and cooling material contained within the plurality of cooling zones. The article of wear is configured to reduce a wearer's body heat content through heat transfer from each region having highly efficient heat transfer properties to each cooling zone when the cooling material is pre-cooled prior to wearing.
