Publication number: 20190156278Abstract: A mobile device and method for determining power tool attendance. The mobile device and method are able to generate a list of power tools that are missing based on being outside of communication range with the mobile device. For example, the mobile device includes a short-range transceiver, a memory, and a processor coupled to the memory and the short-range transceiver. The processor is configured to receive a list of a first plurality of power tools and receive, via a user interface, a selection to detect nearby tools. The processor is also configured to receive, via the short-range transceiver, identification signals from a second plurality of power tools and determine that a subset of the first plurality of power tools is missing based on the identification signals. The processor is further configured to generate an indication that the subset of the first plurality of power tools is missing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 29, 2019Publication date: May 23, 2019Inventors: Stephen Matson, Christian Coulis

Patent number: 10295990Abstract: A programmable power tool and method and systems of programming a power tool using wireless communication. An external device having a processor and a transceiver establishes a communication link with the power tool. The external device receives, with the transceiver, a first mode profile stored on the power tool. The first mode profile is defined by a profile type and a first value associated with a parameter for executing the profile type. The external device displays a control screen including the profile type and the parameter at the first value, and receives a user input. The external device generates, in response to the user input, a second mode profile by modifying the parameter to be at a second value. The external device transmits, with the transceiver, the second mode profile to the power tool.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2016Date of Patent: May 21, 2019Assignee: MILWAUKEE ELECTRIC TOOL CORPORATIONInventors: John S. Dey, IV, Alex Huber, Matthew J. Mergener, Burtrom L. Stampfl, Stephen Matson, Timothy R. Obermann

Publication number: 20180187663Abstract: A precision additive dosing device comprising a liquid additive tank, dosing pump, filter, electric actuator, and pump control unit. Upon completion of fueling, the control unit is input with the corresponding volume of fuel just delivered. The pump starts until a time is reached that achieves the correct blend of additive for the fuel. The dosing pump delivers a constant volume of additive with time being the only variable to achieve the correct ratio of additive to fuel. Operation of the pump may be delayed or the time of pump operation may be increased during low ambient temperatures by the pump control circuit. Additionally, a heater may be used to heat the additive in similarly low temperatures.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 30, 2016Publication date: July 5, 2018Inventor: Harry Stephen Matson
