In one exemplary embodiment, the overall internal depth of the package is less than the natural sagittal depth of the contact lens. Different single-use contact lens package shapes and configurations may be used. In some embodiments, a spring disc is included in the packages to help present the contact lens to the user when the package is opened. The contact lens packages may be adhered or clipped to a card or other carrier sheet, and may be housed in a number of different secondary packages.

Abstract: A contact lens package that is reusable as a case to store a contact lens between uses includes a bottom member having a well with an inside generally concave shape, and a wall rising above the well and ending in a top rim defining an opening; a temporary seal comprising a moisture-proof film sealed across the top rim to seal the opening, thus defining a volume within the package, the volume containing a contact lens and contact lens fluid; and a cap secured to the bottom member covering the temporary seal, the cap being removable to give access to the temporary seal and replaceable on the bottom member thereafter to provide storage of the contact lens between uses thereof.

Abstract: Service and billing databases can be synchronized by accessing first data of a selected type in the billing database including billing data associated with network services provided to subscribers of the network to provide billing data that includes selected billing data of the selected type. Second data of the selected type is accessed in the service database including service data associated with maintaining the services to the subscriber to provide selected service data of the selected type. The service database is modified to include selected billing data that is present in the selected billing data and absent from the selected service data. The service database is modified to remove selected service data that is absent from the selected billing data.

Abstract: Radiation-sensitive elements, e.g. printing plates, comprising a substrate having coated thereon a photosolubilizable composition comprising an alkali-soluble phenolic resin and an onium salt. The onium salt imparts a solvent resistance to the phenolic resin which is removed upon exposure to radiation thereby providing a solubility differential between exposed and unexposed areas of the composition.

Abstract: Isopropylbenzene derivatives having the general formula: ##STR1## in which: R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 independently represent a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group having up to 4 carbon atoms,X.sup..crclbar. represents COO.sup..crclbar. or SO.sub.3.sup..crclbar., andR.sub.f represents a fluorinated organic radical.The compounds may be applied to surfaces liable to be or become negatively charged to suppress spark discharges from such surfaces. Those compounds in which at least two of R.sup.2, R.sup.3 and R.sup.4 are alkyl, are particularly useful in the top coat of photographic films to eliminate marks caused by spark discharges.

Abstract: A method of treating a surface, e.g. carpet, gramophone record, to reduce the static charging thereon which comprises applying a novel antistatic composition comprising a fluorinated anionic surfactant which is an amine salt of an acid containing a fluorinated organic radical and an antistatic agent which is an ionic salt of an amine, preferably in alcoholic solution.
