  • Patent number: 5425391
Abstract: The hose cart (20) of the present invention is of a shape and design allowing preassembly thereby eliminating the need for instruction manuals and associated product packaging necessary of hose carts that are sold in an unassembled state. The hose cart employs a single unitary frame (22) for support of a flexible garden hose to be wound into a coil of multiple layers by use of a directional stress relieving hose reel spool (26). Reel flanges (110, 112) are oblong shaped for holding of the hose within the formed spool yet providing the nesting ability for assembled carts. A handle (24) is foldable for storage with locks (70) concealed within the base of the handle (24). Syringe type (154) hub attachments are further disclosed for removal and maintenance of the water seals without tools.

  • Patent number: 5419600
Abstract: Disclosed is an improved snow shovel having a graphite in-laid polyethylene blade with outwardly propagating reinforced ribs providing a flex resistant blade of minimal thickness. A shaft of the shovel is constructed of a low cost steel pipe covered with a polyethylene sleeve with knurled grip surfaces. The sleeve conforms to the pipe diameter upon application of heat during manufacture. A one-piece handle is attached to the free end the shaft. For storage purposes a cutout is provided on a top edge of each shovel allowing nesting of similarly shaped shovels. A straight blade shovel and a pusher type shovel are two embodiments disclosed herein.

  • Patent number: 5372415
Abstract: A storage locker constructed of recyclable thermoplastic that utilizes insertion tabs and sockets molded into the sides, top, bottom, front and side panels for permanent interlocking without the need of conventional fasteners. The storage locker is assembled on site by inserting the tabs of the appropriate panel into the socket receptacles of an adjoining panel. Assembly of a basic locker requires snap attachment of the side walls to the top and bottom panel. A front frame, preassembly with a hinged door panel, is snap attached to the structure to complete the assembly wherein the structure is available for mounting directly to a wall. For a stand alone locker assembly, a perforated rear panel is available for attachment to the rear of the locker by use of locker pins. The rear panel provides aeration and allows various hook placement for hanging items. Shelves are available in either fixed or adjustable disposition.

  • Patent number: 5056553
Abstract: A portable hose cart comprising first and second frame sides, each having a hub bearing surface. The cart also includes a reel positioned between the frame sides and made up of first and second reel flanges, each having a hub rotatably supported by the hub bearing surface of a corresponding frame side, and a number of cross braces joining the reel flanges and definging a support surface for the winding of the hose. A U-shaped handle is connected to the tops of the first and second frame sides. An axle is releasably held by each frame side adjacent its bottom with the axle and the frame sides functioninbg to maintain the frame sides spaced a predetermined distance to hold the reel. The axle rotatably holds first and second wheels which extend beneath the bottom of the frame side. Furthermore, each frame side adjacent its bottom includes a mounting foot for, after removal of the wheels and the handle, permitting the frame sides holding the reel to be positioned on a wall.

  • Patent number: 5046520
Abstract: A portable garden hose cart for windably holding a garden hose and for use in transporting the hose between a storage location and a use location. The cart includes a frame made up of a pair of generally vertical frame sides. A reel for windably receiving the garden hose is positioned between the frame sides with the reel including a pair of reel sides and a hose support surface extending between the reel sides. The cart further includes an oulet tube carried by the reel for rotation therewith and an inlet tube mounted in one of the reel hubs so that the inlet tube does not rotate with the reel. The cart further includes a handle assembly of one-piece molded thermoplastic construction. The assembly has a first leg for connection to one of the frame sides, a second leg for connection to the other frame side and a crossbar interconnecting the legs.

  • Patent number: 4913580
Abstract: A connector aassembly for releasably joining a first structural member and a second structural member. The connector assembly includes a female connector component carried by the first structural member including a window having first and second ends, an outside surface and an inside surface, a cam wall positioned adjacent the first end and recessed from the outside surface, and a deflector positioned adjacent the second end and the inside surface. The cam wall has a ramp surface which converges with the outside surface away from the second window end. The assembly further includes a male connector component carried by the second structural member. This component includes a male member for reception in the window and a stem joining the male member and the second structural member. The male member is resilient and has a head with an undersurface for riding on the ramp surface along with a tail extending rearwardly from the head. The head and tail have a generally coplanar outside surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4907742
Abstract: An impulse sprinkler includes a base and a main body having a nozzle for dispensing water. The main body also includes a frame defining a window. The main body is pivotably mounted on the base so that the main body can rotate about a vertical axis. The sprinkler further includes an impulse arm for deflection by water dispensed by the nozzle with the impulse arm being pivotably mounted on the main body so that the arm extends through the window and is also rotatable about a vertical axis. A spring is positioned in the window for biasing the impulse arm to a position where it will be deflected by water from the nozzle. The sprinkler also includes an elongate deflector pivotably carried by the main body so that the deflector can rotate about a horizontal axis. This deflector is of one-piece molded construction and has a deflector head overlying the nozzle, a tail for grasping by the user, and an intermediate portion supported by the main body.
