  • Publication number: 20170316319
Abstract: Systems and methods for enhancing exploratory data analysis using a recommender system are provided. The recommender system receives feedback when a set of raw data is analyzed (e.g., from one or more data analysts exploring a data set). Based on the collected feedback, the recommender system can automatically infer the need for certain analytical operations to be performed on a data set. These inferences can be used by the recommender system to infer analytical operations when new data sets are analyzed.

  • Patent number: 9802309
Abstract: Example embodiments may relate to robot-cloud interaction. In particular, a cloud-based service may receive a query from a first robotic system including sensor data, a request for instructions to carry out a task, and information associated with a configuration of the first robotic system. The cloud-based service may then identify stored data including a procedure previously used by a second robotic system to carry out the task and information associated with a configuration of the second robotic system. The cloud-based service may then generate instructions for the first robotic system to carry out the task based at least in part on the sensor data, the procedure used by the second robotic system to carry out the task, the information associated with the configuration of the first robotic system, and the information associated with the configuration of the second robotic system.

  • Publication number: 20170274408
Abstract: A jetting device and/or fluid module include a module body defining a passageway extending through the module body and also partially defining a fluid chamber, a nozzle supported by the module body, a valve element at least partially within the fluid chamber, a biasing element contacting the valve element and also contacting the module body, and a sealing member contacting the periphery of the valve element and configured to partially define the fluid chamber. The nozzle defines a fluid outlet that is in fluid communication with the fluid chamber. The valve element has an upper portion outside of the fluid chamber that is adapted for contact with the drive pin, and the biasing element is configured to apply a spring force to the valve element. The valve element is configured to cause a droplet of the fluid to be jetted from the fluid outlet when the valve element is moved in the direction toward the nozzle.

  • Patent number: 9689696
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for determining and assigning intermediate handoff checkpoints for low-resolution robot planning. In various implementations, a global path planner may identify a task to be performed by a robot in an environment. In various implementations, the global path planner may determine, based at least in part on one or more attributes of the environment or the task, an intermediate handoff checkpoint for the robot to reach by a scheduled time while the robot performs the task. In various implementations, the global path planner may determine that a measure of reactivity that would be attributable to the robot upon the robot being assigned the intermediate handoff checkpoint satisfies a reactivity threshold. In various implementations, the global path planner may provide, to a local path planner associated with the robot, data indicative of the intermediate handoff checkpoint.

  • Patent number: 9346075
Abstract: Modular devices for jetting a fluid material and components for modular jetting devices. The devices may include a pressurized air or positive displacement pump fluid supply module to supply a fluid module inlet. A syringe may feed material through a check valve to a positive displacement pump, which feeds material through another check valve to the fluid module. Inside the fluid module is a valve element moved to contact a valve seat and jet a droplet of material by contact between an external drive pin and a movable element of the fluid module. Either a piezoelectric actuator, a pneumatic actuator, or another actuator may move the drive pin. A controller may coordinate the supply of fluid from the positive displacement pump with the rate at which material is jetted. The fluid module and positive displacement pump are easily removable from the jetting device.

  • Patent number: 9035416
Abstract: Pitch multiplied and non-pitch multiplied features of an integrated circuit, e.g., features in the array, interface and periphery areas of the integrated circuit, are formed by processing a substrate through a mask. A photoresist layer is patterned to simultaneously define mask elements in the array, interface and periphery areas. The pattern is transferred to an amorphous carbon layer. Spacers are formed on the sidewalls of the patterned amorphous carbon layer. Protective material is deposited and patterned to expose mask elements in the array region and in parts of the interface or periphery areas. Exposed amorphous carbon is removed, leaving free-standing spacers in the array region. The protective material is removed, leaving a pattern of pitch multiplied spacers in the array region and non-pitch multiplied mask elements in the interface and periphery areas. The pattern is transferred to a hard mask layer, through which the substrate is etched.

  • Patent number: 8843691
Abstract: Methods and systems for the prioritized erasure of data blocks in a flash storage device are provided. A data block in the flash storage device is selected for erasure based upon the number of valid data segments therein, thereby minimizing the number of data segments that are carried over to another data block before erasing the selected data block. The overhead of write operations in the flash storage device is therefore greatly reduced, and the overall performance thereof greatly increased. A method for managing memory operations in a flash storage device having a plurality of data blocks comprises the steps of selecting one of the plurality of data blocks for erasure based upon a number of valid data segments therein, and erasing the selected one of the plurality of data blocks.
