  • Patent number: 11657236
Abstract: Systems and methods may reduce bias in an artificial intelligence model. The system may receive word embedding model generated based on a corpus of words. The system may determine a bias definition vector in an embedding space of the word embedding model. The system may receive bias classification criteria. The bias classification criteria may include logic to group word vectors in the word embedding model based on a distance measurement from the bias definition vector. The system may identify, in the word embedding model, a first group of vectors and a second group of vectors based on the bias classification criteria and the bias definition vector. The system may generate a debiased artificial intelligence model. The debiased artificial intelligence model may include associations between words and metrics. The system may weight the metrics for the words associated with the first and second group of vectors with a non-zero penalization factor.

  • Publication number: 20230136224
Abstract: A tape library system includes a plurality of tape libraries, a plurality of data centers, and an error diagnostic system. Each of the plurality of tape libraries includes a tape drive, at least one tape cartridge that retains magnetic tape, and a tape cartridge mover that moves the tape cartridge relative to the tape drive. Each of the plurality of data centers is configured to retain at least one of the plurality of tape libraries. The error diagnostic system includes (i) a central database that is configured to receive one or more error codes from each of the plurality of tape libraries, each of the one or more error codes being generated due to errors that occurred during operation of the tape drive within a corresponding tape library, and (ii) a system controller including a processor that is configured to analyze the one or more error codes from each of the plurality of tape libraries to determine a health of the tape drive and the at least one tape cartridge within the corresponding tape library.

  • Publication number: 20220383900
Abstract: A tape cartridge for use in one or more tape drives of a tape library includes a cartridge housing and a magnetic tape. The magnetic tape is retained within the cartridge housing. The magnetic tape includes a first tape section that is pre-recorded with calibrated data for evaluating data durability on the magnetic tape. The magnetic tape is usable within the tape library to measure a health of the one or more tape drives and/or confirm a suitability of an operating environment within the tape library in terms of at least one of temperature and humidity. The calibrated data in the first tape section can be further configured for evaluating total transverse dimensional stability on the magnetic tape. The first tape section can include predetermined error patterns to assist in evaluating the data durability on the magnetic tape and/or periodic tape scrubbing operations to enhance data durability on the magnetic tape.

  • Patent number: 10495552
Abstract: A breath analysis system that includes a handle assembly with an analysis cartridge on an upper end thereof. The handle includes a main body portion with a pressure opening and a pressure transducer therein. The analysis cartridge includes a main body portion with an upper portion that defines a breath chamber, a lower portion that defines a fluid chamber and a filter assembly that is movable between a breath capture position and an analysis position. The filter assembly has an opening defined therethrough. In the breath capture position, the opening partially defines the breath chamber and in the analysis position the opening partially defines the fluid chamber. The system also includes an analysis device with a case, a door, a controller that controls the motor and a fluorescence detection assembly and a rotation assembly positioned in the case interior. The rotation assembly includes a shroud with a funnel portion for receiving the analysis cartridge.

  • Patent number: 10275898
Abstract: A combined video of a scene may be generated for applications such as virtual reality or augmented reality. In one method, a camera system may be oriented at a first orientation and used to capture first video of a first portion of the scene. The camera system may then be rotated to a second orientation and used to capture second video of a second portion of the scene that is offset from the first portion such that the first video and the second video each have an overlapping video portion depicting an overlapping portion of the scene in which the first portion and the second portion of the scene overlap with each other. The first and second portions may be combined together to generate the combined video, which may depict the first and second portions substantially without duplicative inclusion of the overlapping video portion.
