Publication number: 20210178778Abstract: Aspects described herein may provide detection of a feature of an authorization code image (ACI) incorporated onto a document, thereby allowing for validation of the document. According to some aspects, these and other benefits may be achieved by an instance of a variable protocol that may specify how to generate the ACI to have a particular feature as well as how to detect the particular feature of the ACI. A recipient of the document incorporating the ACI may detect the particular feature of the ACI. If the detected feature matches an expected feature, then the ACI and the document may be determined to be authentic.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 1, 2021Publication date: June 17, 2021Inventors: David Wurmfeld, Steve Faletti

Patent number: 11037127Abstract: A system and method are disclosed in which a symbol associated with an ATM of a plurality of ATMs is made available to a customer in response to a request for access to the ATM. The symbol identifies the ATM to the user in locations having multiple ATMs, thus avoiding confusion for the user. The symbol may be used for any of the possible transactions between the user and the ATM, such as balance inquiries, deposits, transfers, and cash withdrawals.Type: GrantFiled: May 7, 2019Date of Patent: June 15, 2021Assignee: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Janak Dadhaniya, Lisa Whitsitt, Robert Smith, David Wurmfeld, Steve Faletti

Publication number: 20210158328Abstract: Exemplary embodiments may enable synchronization of a display of a mobile computing device with a display of an ATM. The displays first may be synched when a user positions the mobile computing device in proximity to the ATM. Near field communication (NFC) initially may be used when the mobile phone is in proximity with the ATM. Once the communication connection has been realized, the displays may be synchronized to reflect the connection. After the NFC connection has been realized, a cellular connection between a user's mobile computing device with a server having a secure connection with the ATM may be established. One or more financial transactions may be initiated with the ATM from the mobile computing device via the cellular connection. The display of the mobile computing device and the ATM may remain synched during the one or more financial transactions.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 25, 2019Publication date: May 27, 2021Applicant: Capital One Services, LLCInventors: Janak DADHANIYA, Matthew WILSON, Lisa WHITSITT, Cheng XU, Robert SMITH, Steve Faletti, David WURMFELD

Publication number: 20210144514Abstract: A user can submit a request to a server associated with an ATM. The request can be submitted from a device (or portable device) of the user. The server can evaluate the request and designate which ATM or ATMs are best suited to process the request. This determination can be based on availability of resources on the ATM. Subsequently, the server can transmit a communication to the device of the user and the designated ATM. The communication can cause both the device and the ATM to emit a sound or display a visual cue to guide the user to approach the designated ATM. The device and the ATM can emit various patterns of sound to better guide the user to approach the designated ATM.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 25, 2021Publication date: May 13, 2021Inventors: Janak DADHANIYA, Steve FALETTI, David WURMFELD, Robert SMITH, Lisa WHITSITT
