Patent number: 11110568Abstract: A two-station self-centering vise to hold a pair of work pieces is described. The pieces are held in place against a centered fixed jaw, being clamped against the centered fixed jaw by a pair of movable jaws located on either side of the centered jaw and that simultaneously move toward or away from the centered jaw on actuation of a lead screw. The vise may be converted to a single station vise by removable of the fixed center jaw. A spring loaded, adjustable, friction pad attached to the base of one of the two movable jaws enables temporary clamping of a first work piece while the second workpiece is being installed and once both workpieces are in place the lead screw is turned further to securely and accurately hold the workpieces in between the movable jaws and the fixed central jaw.Type: GrantFiled: June 25, 2018Date of Patent: September 7, 2021Inventors: Chris Taylor, Steve Grangetto

Patent number: 10179392Abstract: A tooling fixture that provides a compact, multi-station fixture vise is described. The design provides a compact, tooling fixture that is easily assembled into multi-unit arrays for machining of large volumes of workpieces. Variations of design include the ability to hold two separate pieces to be machined by one fixture, to hold a single piece in each fixture and to attach an array of the fixtures to a base for simultaneously machining and array of parts.Type: GrantFiled: January 22, 2016Date of Patent: January 15, 2019Inventors: Chris Taylor, Steve Grangetto

Patent number: 9902033Abstract: A tooling base that is an improvement over current designs in the form of simplified number of parts and easier manufacturing of parts is described. The tooling base uses alignment fixtures on threaded rods that are restricted in their movement within the tooling base by stops. The stops are located either on the threaded shafts or on the alignment fixtures. This allowed degree of movement enables simplified part design and manufacture while maintaining the precision and accuracy of registration of a tooling fixture with the tooling base.Type: GrantFiled: June 8, 2017Date of Patent: February 27, 2018Inventors: Chris Taylor, Steve Grangetto, Adam Lane
