  • Publication number: 20240061772
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for techniques to group media blocks are described. In some cases, a computing system may generate a memory map for a preconfigured size or chunk of data. For example, the computing system may divide files of media blocks into a set of fixed sized chunks of consecutive media blocks. Upon an application requesting a memory map for a set of media blocks, a storage layer of the computing system may generate a sub-map of the memory map for each chunk of data containing a media block of the set of requested media blocks. In some cases, the computing system may assign the chunks of data a continuous range of addresses in the virtual address space of the application. Upon generating the memory map, the storage layer may return an indication of the virtual address ranges of the requested media blocks to the application.

  • Publication number: 20240060093
Abstract: Systems and methods for producing methanol are provided. A reformer feed gas including methane and carbon dioxide is provided to a methane reformer, which produces a synthesis gas. The synthesis gas includes a first portion of hydrogen, a second portion of carbon monoxide, and a third portion of carbon dioxide. The methane is present in the reformer feed gas in an amount of between 20 volume percent (vol %) and 90 vol % and the carbon dioxide is present in the reformer feed gas in an amount of between 10 vol % and 80 vol %. The synthesis gas is subjected to a methanol synthesis reactor. The methanol synthesis reactor is utilized to produce a methanol product and a purge gas stream from the synthesis gas.

  • Publication number: 20240060891
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for detecting an analyte in a sample and a device for carrying out the method. The method comprises the following steps. (i) Providing a mixture comprising a sample, a reporter reagent, and a pre-activator reagent to a device, the device comprising a substrate having an optical component and a binding component, where the optical component and the binding component are attached to a surface of the substrate, the reporter reagent being capable of generating reactive oxygen species from the pre-activator reagent upon absorption of electromagnetic radiation, and the optical component being capable of changing from a first optical state to a second optical state on reaction with the reactive oxygen species. (ii) Allowing a portion of the reporter reagent to bind to the surface of the substrate in proportion to the concentration of the analyte, by means of the binding component.

  • Patent number: 11905802
Abstract: An electrical submersible pump assembly comprising a first section and a second section with an outer housing and a drive shaft. A coupling assembly comprising a coupling, a thrust pin, and a retainer ring mechanically couples the first drive shaft to the second drive shaft. The coupling is generally cylindrical in shape with splines formed along the inner surface configured to transfer torque from the first shaft to the second shaft. The thrust pin is installed in a pin bore in the lower shaft and extends into a retainer bore in the upper shaft. The retainer ring is installed between a groove in the retainer bore and a retainer groove on the outside of the thrust pin. The thrust pin is configured to transfer tensile stress from the retainer bore in first drive shaft to the pin bore in the second drive shaft.

  • Publication number: 20240056387
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for techniques to balance log structured merge trees are described. A computing system may rebalance a tree structure having an ordered set of leaf nodes by splitting or joining leaf nodes of the tree structure. To split a leaf node, the computing system may select a key to evenly partition key and value data stored in the leaf. The computing system may place each key block of the leaf node having keys less than or equal to the selected key in a first new leaf node, and may place each key block of the leaf node having keys greater than the selected key in a second new leaf node. To join leaf nodes of the tree structure, the computing system may place each key block and each value block of the leaf node and the adjacent leaf node in a new leaf node.

  • Publication number: 20240034854
Abstract: A method for the fractionation of reclaimed polymer in at least one solvent in a process for purifying reclaimed polymers plastic recycling to increase their use in secondary applications. The reclaimed polymer is dissolved in a solvent within a reactor vessel having a stack of perforated discs which are oscillated. The linear motion of the stack speeds up dissolution time to minutes rather than hours and the required polymer to solvent ratio can be increased to 0.3 to 10% wt addition. Temperature and time effects are used to fractionate polymers of differing molecular weights to provide purified and graded plastics for secondary use at a commercially viable scale.
