  • Patent number: 11343595
Abstract: An interactive narrative presentation includes a plurality of narrative segments, with a variety of available media content consumer selectable paths or directions, typically specified by a director or editor. The content consumer can select a path or path segment at each of a number of points, e.g., decision points, in the narrative presentation via user interface elements or narrative prompts, providing the consumer the opportunity to follow a storyline they find interesting. Each consumer follows a “personalized” path through the narrative. The narrative prompts can include images from subsequent segments, may be generated to stylistically resemble the underlying narrative presentation, may be animated to move with or with respect to the underlying narrative presentation, and, or may be presented in overlaid with a presentation of the underlying narrative while the underlying narrative continues play.

  • Patent number: 11332167
Abstract: A system includes one or more processors, a communication device, and a positive train control (PTC) system. The one or more processors and communication device are onboard a lead vehicle of a vehicle system that includes the lead vehicle and a first remote vehicle. The PTC system is configured to restrict movement of the vehicle system based on a location of the vehicle system. The PTC system communicates a list of vehicle identifiers to the one or more processors. The communication device communicates a wireless linking message, which includes a vehicle identifier associated with the first remote vehicle, to the first remote vehicle. The communication device establishes a communication link between the lead vehicle and the first remote vehicle responsive to receipt of the wireless linking message at the first remote vehicle. The one or more processors remotely control movement of the first remote vehicle via the communication link.

  • Patent number: 11289085
Abstract: A method of automatically delineating turns in a multi-turn dialogue between a user and a conversational computing interface. Audio data encoding speech of the user in the multi-turn dialogue is received. The audio data is analyzed to recognize, in the speech of the user, an utterance followed by a silence. The utterance is recognized as a last utterance in a turn of the multi-turn dialogue responsive to the silence exceeding a context-dependent duration dynamically updated based on a conversation history of the multi-turn dialogue and features of the received audio, wherein the conversation history includes one or more previous turns of the multi-turn dialogue taken by the user and one or more previous turns of the multi-turn dialogue taken by the conversational computing interface.

  • Publication number: 20220075005
Abstract: A system and method for detecting a phase-to-ground fault in an AC electrical machine operates to receive measurements of three-phase voltages and currents provided to the AC electrical machine, compute at least one of a zero sequence component and a negative sequence component of voltage and current from the three-phase voltages and currents, and calculate a fault severity index (FSI) based on the zero or negative sequence component of voltage and current, so as to identify a phase-to-ground fault in the AC electrical machine. Calculating the FSI further includes determining a total value of the zero or negative sequence current, determining a noise-contributed value of the zero or negative sequence current included in the total value, determining a compensated value of the zero or negative sequence current based on the total value and the noise-contributed value, and calculating the FSI based on the compensated value.

  • Patent number: 11257002
Abstract: Techniques for dynamic accuracy-based experimentation and deployment of machine learning (ML) models are described. Inference traffic flowing to ML models and the accuracy of the models is analyzed and used to ensure that better performing models are executed more often via model selection. A predictive component can evaluate which model is more likely to be accurate for certain input data elements. Ensemble techniques can combine inference results of multiple ML models to aim to achieve a better overall result than any individual model could on its own.

  • Patent number: 11242291
Abstract: A brine waste management method comprising the utilization of brine waste as a growth medium for cultures of genetically modified halophiles acting as bio-refineries creating chemicals of value. Brine waste enters the method (101) to undergo compositional analysis (102), Pretreatment (104), and Inoculation (106). The compositional analysis (102) and the selection (103) of the chemicals of value influences the selection (103) of the halophile species to undergo modification (105), as well as the pretreatment (104) needed to encourage growth-production (107). Growth-production (107) is monitored and assisted until the extraction (108) of the chemicals of value and additional post-extraction (109) handling of excess brine waste exiting the method.

  • Patent number: 11159861
Abstract: A narrative includes a number of serially connected narrative segments combined by a director or editor in a defined sequence to tell a story. Quite frequently a number of different narrative segments are available to the director or editor. A content delivery editor provides editors and directors with the ability to augment a standard with additional narrative segments that provide alternate perspectives, view, or insights to the narrative consumer. Such provides the ability to convey the same narrative to the narrative consumer using a number of plots, storylines, or perspectives. Branch points in the narrative, defined by the editor or director, provide the narrative consumer the opportunity to follow a storyline they find interesting. Each narrative consumer follows a “personalized” path through the narrative. Through social media, narrative consumers are able to discuss the narrative path with other narrative consumers who have taken a different path through the narrative.
