  • Patent number: 8660479
Abstract: A digital radio broadcast system includes a processing system that receives first audio content, first program data identifying a first item for the first audio content, second audio content, and second program data identifying a second item for the second audio content such that a start of the first program data is received at the processing system within 0.5 seconds of a start of the first audio content. A digital radio broadcast signal including the audio content and the program data is processed for digital radio broadcast transmission via a transmitter. The processing system stops delivery of the first program data to the transmitter upon receipt of the second program data, the first program data thereby being truncated, and begins delivery of the second program data to the transmitter. A digital radio broadcast receiver can tag content of interest based on a user command registered at the receiver.

  • Publication number: 20140044510
Abstract: A walker system includes a pair of spaced-apart interconnected main beams, designed as a substructure having opposed, laterally spaced-apart side walls structurally bridged for carrying a load above the ground. Lift assemblies mounted on the substructure may engage the ground and raise the substructure to a predetermined height above the ground, and may lower the substructure so that its load is transferred back onto the ground. A shifter mechanism disposed adjacent each lift assembly may displace the substructure along the ground when the lifting assemblies have been extended to raise the substructure above the ground. Auxiliary load bearing members mounted on and extending between the side walls of each main beam engage the ground and distribute the load over the surface area of the auxiliary load bearing members that engage the ground when the lift assemblies have been retracted and disengaged from the ground.

  • Publication number: 20140009102
Abstract: A system and method for determining rotor speed of an AC induction machine is disclosed. The system is programmed to estimate a rotor speed of the induction machine according to a linear speed estimation algorithm and based on name plate information (NPI) of the induction machine and parameters of the AC induction machine during operation thereof. The rotor speed estimation system is also programmed to estimate a rotor speed of the AC induction machine according to a frequency-domain signal processing algorithm and determine if the rotor speed estimated thereby is valid. If the rotor speed estimated by the frequency-domain signal processing algorithm is valid, then a tuned rotor speed of the AC induction machine is estimated according to the linear speed estimation algorithm and based, in part, on the rotor speed estimated by the frequency-domain signal processing algorithm.

  • Patent number: 8618864
Abstract: The active rectifier circuit and related method of operation disclosed herein is self-powered and improves the efficiency and reliability of photovoltaic solar power systems by replacing the conventional bypass and blocking rectifiers used in such systems. The circuit includes a power MOSFET used as a switch between the anode and cathode terminals, and control circuitry that turns on the MOSFET when the anode voltage is greater than the cathode voltage. The method of operation utilizes resonance to produce a large periodic voltage waveform from the small anode-to-cathode dc voltage drop, and then converts the period voltage waveform to a dc voltage to drive the gate of the power MOSFET.
