  • Patent number: 10704753
Abstract: An auxiliary lamp for a vehicle. Ordinary headlamps are restricted by law in the intensity that they direct towards oncoming drivers. This can cause inconveniently low illumination to a side of the vehicle, such as along a line 20 or 25 degrees left of center for a left-hand driver side vehicle. An auxiliary headlamp assembly is added to provide an auxiliary beam that supplements the primary beam. The auxiliary beam increases illumination along this line, yet maintains total illumination toward oncoming drivers below allowed limits.

  • Patent number: 10685249
Abstract: A system for predicting and detecting urination events of users is disclosed. The system can include any number of wearable devices, mobile devices, hubs, computing devices, and servers to collect, share, process, and interpret data, as well as to provide stimuli to users and caregivers. Biometric and/or environmental data associated with a user can be collected and applied to a urination model to determine a predicted urination time. The user or a caregiver can be provided with direct or environmental stimuli conveying information about predicted urination times. Ongoing biometric and/or environmental data collection can be used to identify, and provide stimuli warning of, imminent urination events. Voluntary and involuntary feedback of actual urination events, as well as continued biometric and/or environmental data collection, can be used to train individual and collective urination models.

  • Patent number: 10483888
Abstract: A method of compensating for rotor position error of a rotor of a permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMG) that provides electrical power to a direct current (DC) power generating system, the method including obtaining PMG phase voltages and resolver processed angular position output when the PMG is driven by a prime mover. Once obtained, a PMG fundamental phase voltage waveform is selected by eliminating higher order harmonics. A mechanical angle of the rotor is then converted into an electrical angle, then the electrical angle is aligned within the mechanical angle with a corresponding PMG fundamental phase voltage angle by adjusting offset to the electrical angle. After alignment, a plurality of resolver error offset values associated with the electrical angle are stored and additional values to the compensation table are added by interpolating data between two corresponding resolver error offset values of the plurality of resolver error offset values.

  • Publication number: 20190323504
Abstract: An insert component for a scroll compressor comprises a polymer and at least one reinforcing or lubricating particle. The insert component comprises an annular body and an axial projection. The annular body defines a first centrally-disposed opening having has a central axis extending therethrough. The annular body has a first side comprising a first contact surface configured to engage a partition plate and a second side a second contact surface configured to engage a floating seal assembly. The first contact surface defines a slope between first and second radial locations. The axial projection extends from the annular body and can be received in a second centrally-disposed opening of the partition plate. The insert component can fluidly seal both a first interface between the first contact surface and the partition plate and a second interface between the second contact surface and a floating seal assembly during operation of the scroll compressor.

  • Patent number: 10452718
Abstract: A stopword detection component detects stopwords (also stop-phrases) in search queries input to keyword-based information retrieval systems. Potential stopwords are initially identified by comparing the terms in the search query to a list of known stopwords. Context data is then retrieved based on the search query and the identified stopwords. In one implementation, the context data includes documents retrieved from a document index. In another implementation, the context data includes categories relevant to the search query. Sets of retrieved context data are compared to one another to determine if they are substantially similar. If the sets of context data are substantially similar, this fact may be used to infer that the removal of the potential stopword(s) is not material to the search. If the sets of context data are not substantially similar, the potential stopword can be considered material to the search and should not be removed from the query.
