  • Publication number: 20190005513
Abstract: A consumption probability metric may be generated for a media asset. An aggregated forecast predicting user consumption of a media asset is received. A plurality of probabilities, each corresponding to a user of a plurality of users, is received, each indicating how likely a respective user is to consume the media asset. A weight for the plurality of users is calculated representing a ratio of the total number of users to a number of users in the plurality of users. A disaggregated forecast predicting user consumption of a media asset is determined based on the weight for the plurality of users and the plurality of probabilities. A modification factor is computed based on the aggregated forecast and the disaggregated forecast. A metric is generated that includes a plurality of user identifiers associated with the plurality of users and a plurality of modified probabilities each modified by the modification factor.

  • Patent number: 10136170
Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for an optimization system that recommends amounts of resources for use in reaching viewers during a media asset. The optimization system, using control circuitry, receives a user input of a first value of a resource and determines a first rate at which a number of unique household viewers reached during a first media asset changes for the first value. The optimization system compares the first rate to a threshold rate and determines whether the first rate equals or exceeds the threshold rate. The optimization system, in response to determining that the first rate does not equal or exceed the threshold rate, recommends a second value to the user.

  • Publication number: 20180137541
Abstract: Methods and systems for determining advertisement placements are described herein. The method includes retrieving a matrix of access time values, wherein each row is associated with a respective user, each column is associated with a respective media asset, and each access time value represents a length of time for which a respective user accessed a respective media source. The method includes identifying media sources accessed by a user, creating combinations of the identified media sources, and determining a minimum access value associated with each combination of the identified media sources. The method further includes creating an overlap value by adding the determined minimum access values to create an overlap value associated with each combination and selecting, based on the overlap value, a subset of a plurality of advertisement placement spots.

  • Publication number: 20170193546
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for determining advertising reach based on machine learning. In particular, a reach calculator is provided to determine reach for advertisement campaigns in real time through the use of machine learning. The reach calculator increases the speed at which reach calculations can be done by using a trained machine learning model and a set of aggregated features as opposed to using a direct calculation approach that directly analyzes a massive amount of user data.

  • Publication number: 20150362989
Abstract: Object tracking, such as may involve face tracking, can utilize different detection templates that can be trained using different data. A computing device can determine state information, such as the orientation of the device, an active illumination, or an active camera to select an appropriate template for detecting an object, such as a face, in a captured image. Information about the object, such as the age range or gender of a person, can also be used, if available, to select an appropriate template. In some embodiments instances of templates can be used to process various orientations, while in other embodiments specific orientations, such as upside down orientations, may not be processed for reasons such as rate of inaccuracies or infrequency of use for the corresponding additional resource overhead.

  • Patent number: 9202113
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices are described for adjudicating votes made on voter-marked paper ballots. Voter-marked paper ballots may be scanned to obtain optical image data of the voter-marked paper ballots. The optical image may be analyzed to determine the votes contained in the ballot for tabulation purposes. One or more votes on the ballot may be identified as requiring adjudication by an election official. Adjudication information, according to various embodiments, is appended to the optical images of the voter-marked paper ballots such that the image of the ballot and the image of the adjudication information may be viewed in an optical image. The optical image may be stored in a file format that allows the ballot image and the appended adjudication information to be viewed using readily available image viewers.
