  • Patent number: 6224149
Abstract: An assembly for mounting a tablet to the support of a seating assembly includes inner and outer mounting collars which are attached to the tablet support. The inner and outer mounting collars define a passage within which a connecting shaft is supported. The connecting shaft extends from a hinge mechanism connected to the tablet. The connecting shaft includes a radially extending key member. The inner and outer collars form a shaft retaining structure which supports the connecting shaft for pivotal movement and also provides a chamber that accommodates rotation of the key member along an arcuate key path between a front key stop and a rear key stop. This mounting assembly provides two-dimensional rotational movement for the tablet arm, and provides convenient and quiet movement of the tablet arm from a lowered, stored position to a raised, vertical intermediate position and to an operative raised, horizontal position.

  • Patent number: 6202567
Abstract: A table assembly consists of a table top supported by a leg assembly, which includes a vertical tubular leg member. The leg assembly further includes a foot member mounted to the lower end of each leg via a mounting member. The length of the foot member can be varied according to the width of the table top to selectively provide different sizes of tables according to user requirements, while the mounting member is usable for all sizes of legs and foot members to mount the foot member to the leg. A power/communication housing is mounted to the underside of the table top. The housing includes first and second passages isolated from each other via a wall, with power supply cabling and communication cabling placed within the first and second passages, respectively.

  • Patent number: 6179381
Abstract: A seating structure including a series of seat assemblies each consisting of a pair of spaced side supports, a seat pivotably mounted between the side supports, a back fixed to the side supports, an electrical outlet positioned on one of the side supports, and at least one data outlet positioned on one of the side supports. Each of the side supports includes an outlet housing affixed to the lower surface of an arm rest contained on the side support. The outlet housing extends inwardly toward the seat surface and provides the seat occupant with an electrical outlet and at least one data outlet. The electrical wiring and data line for each seat assembly pass through a wireway contained in the seat back. A branch electrical power conduit passes through the side support and into the seat back where is it connected to the supply of electrical power. Likewise, a data line extends from the wireway contained in the seat back into the side support where it is connected to the data outlet.

  • Patent number: 6085667
Abstract: A utility receptacle assembly for use in combination with a worksurface includes a base mountable to the worksurface and a utility receptacle pivotably and removably mounted to the base. The base includes a passage within which the utility receptacle member is received, and the base further includes at least one recess located adjacent the passage. A cover member is secured to the utility receptacle member, and functions to enclose the passage and the recess when the utility receptacle member is in a closed, inoperative position and to provide access to the recess when the utility receptacle member is moved to an open, operative position. The utility receptacle member and the base include releasable engagement structure for maintaining the utility receptacle member in its open, operative position. The releasable retainer structure is manually engageable by a user for returning the utility receptacle member to its closed, inoperative position.

  • Patent number: 5173348
Abstract: A table edging system for application to the edge of a foldable banquet table. The edging system includes extruded edging pieces applied to the table edge along each of the four sides of the table, and four molded corner pieces, one for application to each of the four corners. Each extruded edging piece is formed of a first flat portion, designed to contact the underside of the table. A second portion connects with the first portion at a point spaced apart from either side edge thereof and is positioned substantially normal to the first plane. A third portion also connects with the first portion at one of the side edges thereof. The third portion is positioned in a plane substantially parallel to but offset from the first portion. The length of the third portion is substantially the same as the thickness of the table edge. At the upper edge of the third portion is a tapered flange to overly the top surface of the table.
