  • Patent number: 9004003
Abstract: This is a photoconductor and dispenser assembly and system. The photoconductor is in a tubular form so as to accept a tubular formed dispenser within its hollow portion. The dispenser will coat within this hollow portion a uniform coating of an acoustical dampening material. This material will dull any sound produced by the photoconductive marking system. The assembly is the tube having in its hollow portion this dispenser. The dispenser fits tightly but movably within the hollow portion.

  • Patent number: 8784946
Abstract: A method feeds a continuous core of a print cartridge cleaning blade along a path. The path passes, in the following order, firstly through a coating bath or spray coating station, secondly by a curing station, thirdly through a cutter, and fourthly to a finisher station. Thus, the method herein coats portions of the continuous core that are in the coating bath/spray station with an outer covering. For portions of the continuous core that are adjacent the curing station, the method cures the outer covering of the continuous core; for portions of the continuous core that are in the cutter, the method cuts the continuous core into predetermined lengths; and for portions of the predetermined lengths of the continuous core that are adjacent the finishing station, the method finishes the outer covering of the predetermined lengths of the continuous core to produce a finished print cartridge cleaning blade.

  • Patent number: 8068779
Abstract: A coated-core cleaner blade has a core comprising a first material and a coating surrounding the core. The coating comprises a second material that is different than the first material. Further, the core (first material) is rigid compared to the coating (second material). Therefore, the first material has a first flexibility that is much less than a second flexibility of the second material.

  • Patent number: 7769323
Abstract: Method for acoustic dampening of photoreceptor and ionographic drums using an acoustic dampening applied to and cured on the interior of a drum. • Patent number: 7504951
Abstract: An interface antenna is positioned between a tag antenna associated with a tag and a reader antenna associated with a reader. The interface antenna receives an electromagnetic carrier signal transmitted by the reader antenna and causes an increase in intensity of the electromagnetic carrier signal at the location of the tag antenna, thereby increasing the distance over which the tag can communicate with the reader. Where the tag is attached to a packaged object, the interface antenna may be included in the package to allow wireless data communication between the tag and a reader external to the package. For example, the interface antenna may be attached to a label on the package. At least a portion of the interface antenna may be formed from a conductive ink applied to the label and/or the container. The object may be a module, also known as a customer replaceable unit (CRU), and the tag may be configured as a customer replaceable unit monitor (CRUM).

  • Patent number: 7366453
Abstract: A development subsystem is used to develop developer having semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles. The development subsystem includes a developer housing, for retaining a quantity of developer having semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles, a first magnetic roll having a stationary core with at least one magnet and a sleeve that rotates about the stationary core of the first magnetic roll, a second magnetic roll having a stationary core with at least one magnet and a sleeve that rotates about the stationary core of the second magnetic roll, and a motor coupled to the first and the second magnetic rolls to drive the rotating sleeves of the first and the second magnetic rolls in a direction that is against the direction of a photoreceptor that rotates in proximity to the first and the second magnetic rolls. The first and the second magnetic rolls carry semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles through a development zone formed by the first and the second magnetic rolls.

  • Patent number: 7020427
Abstract: A xerographic printer or copier includes a replaceable cartridge having a cleaning blade and carrier particle pickoff member associated with a rotating charge receptor. As the cartridge is being used, carrier particles removed from the photoreceptor by the cleaning blade are magnetically retained on the pickoff member, where the remain for the balance of the lifetime of the cartridge. When a useable lifetime of the cartridge is spent, the carrier particles are removed from the pickoff blade.

  • Publication number: 20030234262
Abstract: In a cleaning station for removing residual toner from a photoreceptor in a xerographic printing apparatus, the residual toner accumulates in a hopper, and an auger at the bottom of the hopper removes the accumulated toner. A thin, flexible member forming an agitator extends nearly vertically from the top of the hopper to the auger. Fingers at the end of the agitator contact the flights of the auger. There are between one and three more fingers than there are flights of the auger: the discrepancy causes an undulation of the agitator when the auger rotates.
