  • Patent number: 9408732
Abstract: An expandable slide and lock stent comprises a tubular member that can be expanded from a collapsed state to an expanded state. The tubular member can comprise a reversing helical backbone and at least one rail member extending from the helical backbone in a circumferential direction. The backbone can have at least one engagement element that can be configured to receive a rail member to form the tubular member. In some embodiments, the reversing helical backbone can comprise a plurality of discrete segments having a variable profile and/or wave form. A plurality of regions of each backbone may have a recessed or “nesting” profile providing for a smaller overall stent profile in a compacted configuration, and improved stent retention as mounted on a balloon catheter.

  • Publication number: 20160220851
Abstract: A pulmonary treatment system includes a compact configuration for delivery to an airway of a patient. An energy delivery system of the pulmonary treatment system delivers ultrasound energy to target nerve tissue in or along an airway wall of the airway radially outward from surface tissue to reduce airway resistance in a downstream airway. The pulmonary treatment system may protect tissue in the airway wall of the airway located between the target nerve tissue and the ultrasound energy delivery system by a coolant system that may also act as a coupling fluid for the emitted ultrasound energy.

  • Publication number: 20160215999
Abstract: An apparatus is provided which includes a changeable cover assembly sized to cover, at least in part, an air outlet side of an electronics rack. The cover assembly, when positioned at the air outlet side of the rack, redirects and vents airflow egressing from the air outlet side. The cover assembly includes a frame and at least one vent cover. The frame has at least one opening through which air egressing from the electronics rack passes, and the vent cover(s) is coupled to the frame and overlies, at least in part, the opening(s) in the frame to facilitate redirecting and venting the air passing through the frame. The at least one vent cover is changeable to change a direction of the vented air. For instance, the vent cover(s) may be reversible, or otherwise adjustable or changeable, to change the direction of vented air egressing from the cover assembly.

  • Publication number: 20160206397
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for implanting objects, such as a marker, in the lungs of patients. In one embodiment, a bronchoscopic catheter assembly for implanting an object in the lung of a patient includes a handle, a delivery catheter projecting outwardly from the handle, and a push wire contained within the catheter. In one aspect of this embodiment, the catheter can be configured to releasably hold a plurality of markers at a distal end. In another aspect of this embodiment, the push wire can be operably connected to the handle and axially moveable within the delivery catheter to eject the marker out of the catheter within the bronchi of the patient. In a further aspect of this embodiment, the marker can further include an anti-migration device associated with the marker for holding the marker in place once the marker is deployed in the bronchi. The anti-migration device can be integral with the marker or positioned proximate to the marker to prevent migration of the marker.

  • Patent number: 9395196
Abstract: A navigation server as part of a vehicle navigation system provides a set of turn-by-turn directions to a vehicle driver from the vehicle's current location to a destination chosen by the driver. Further, a navigation server receives new route requests because a vehicle driver disregards a previous a maneuver contained in a previous set of turn-by-turn directions. The navigation server tracks vehicle locations whereat new routes have been requested. If a large number of new route requests occur in a given location, the system analyzes this location to determine whether the location is one where poor directions are given. Improved directions may thus be generated and provided.
