  • Patent number: 9292838
Abstract: In one embodiment, an intended recipient of money transmits a payment link created by the recipient to an intended sender of money, where the link contains a locator to a site of a payment provider, information about the recipient (e.g., phone number), and the amount of money to be sent. The link can be sent via email, text, IM, or other means. The sender then accesses the link, such as by clicking or tapping on the link, which launches a checkout or payment page for the sender on the payment provider site. The sender completes the payment page, and the payment is sent to the recipient by the payment provider.

  • Patent number: 9290910
Abstract: Activation of an automatic articulation control function in an articulated machine is delayed until error conditions are cleared or a steering angle to alignment angle mismatch is corrected. A controller monitors a selector setting indicating a desire to activate the automatic articulation control function. The controller also evaluates whether conditions such as low ground speed, loss of signal from needed sensors, or articulation misalignment are present. If so, the conditions are monitored and when corrected, the automatic articulation control function is activated. An indicator may be set to inform an operator that the automatic articulation control function is pending activation.

  • Patent number: 9289717
Abstract: An air drying system for OBOGS is provided. The system comprises a bypass valve having an opened state and a closed state. The bypass valve is in fluid communication with an air inlet providing pressurized air. A dryer unit is configured to produce dried air when the bypass valve is in the closed state. An OBOGS unit produces oxygen enriched air while a purge valve has an opened state and a closed state. When the bypass valve is its closed state, the purge valve is in its opened state thereby directing a portion of the dried air to the oxygen generating system unit and a portion of the dried air to the dryer unit. When the bypass valve is its open state the pressurized air passes directly to the OBOGS unit.

  • Patent number: 9287886
Abstract: Within a receiver, the frequency of a comparison reference clock signal supplied to a fractional-N Phase-Locked Loop (PLL) is dynamically changed such that undesirable reciprocal mixing of reference spurs with known jammers (for example, transmit leakage) is minimized. As the transmit channel changes within a band, and as the transmit leakage frequency changes, a circuit changes the frequency of the comparison reference clock signal such that reference spurs generated by the PLL are moved in frequency so that they do not reciprocally mix with transmitter leakage in undesirable ways. In a second aspect, the PLL is operable either as an integer-N PLL or a fractional-N PLL. In low total receive power situations, the PLL operates as an integer-N PLL to reduce receiver susceptibility to fractional-N spurs. In a third aspect, jammer detect information is used to determine the comparison reference clock signal frequency.

  • Patent number: 9283053
Abstract: Apparatuses and methods for implanting objects, such as a marker, in the lungs of patients. In one embodiment, a bronchoscopic catheter assembly for implanting an object in the lung of a patient includes a handle, a delivery catheter projecting outwardly from the handle, and a push wire contained within the catheter In one aspect of this embodiment, the catheter can be configured to releasably hold a plurality of markers at a distal end. In another aspect of this embodiment, the push wire can be operably connected to the handle and axially moveable within the delivery catheter to eject the marker out of the catheter within the bronchi of the patient. In a further aspect of this embodiment, the marker can further include an anti-migration device associated with the marker for holding the marker in place once the marker is deployed in the bronchi. The anti-migration device can be integral with the marker or positioned proximate to the marker to prevent migration of the marker.

  • Publication number: 20160072647
Abstract: Maximum likelihood bit-stream generation and detection techniques are provided using the M-algorithm and Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filtering. The M-Algorithm is applied to a target input signal X to perform Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation on the target input signal X to produce a digital bit stream B, such that after filtering by an IIR filter, the produced digital stream Y produces an error signal satisfying one or more predefined requirements. The predefined requirements comprise, for example, a substantially minimum error. In an exemplary bit detection implementation, the target input signal X comprises an observed analog signal and the produced digital stream Y comprises a digitized output of a receive channel corresponding to a transmitted bit stream. In an exemplary bit stream generation implementation, the target input signal X comprises a desired transmit signal and the produced digital stream Y comprises an estimate of the desired transmit signal.

  • Publication number: 20160066994
Abstract: A noninvasive method of slimming a patient's body by concurrently applying laser energy of two different wavelengths to the patient. In the preferred embodiment, the laser treatment uses one wavelength of about 635 nm and another wavelength of about 532 nm. Preferably the laser energy is applied using a circular beam spot created by a line swept through a 360° circle. By using two wavelengths concurrently in the treatment regimen, the patient avoids the inconvenience and expense of the trial-and-error approach of undergoing a complete treatment regimen unsuccessfully with a first wavelength, and then subsequently undergoing a second complete treatment regimen using a second wavelength.

  • Patent number: 9280566
Abstract: The system and method of visual role engineering uses a visual assessment tool to identify clusters of users and to define roles. A “cluster image” is generated that visually depicts the cluster tendencies of users and permissions. An operator of the visual assessment tool can visually identify clusters of users with the same permissions. The operator may select a cluster representing a subset of users, define a role for the subset of users, and assign permissions to the role. The process may be repeated in an iterative fashion until it is determined that no more roles are needed.

  • Patent number: 9278367
Abstract: Embodiments disclosed herein propose a precision spray pumping system including a positive displacement pump in fluid communication with at least one spray nozzle. The positive displacement pump includes a displaceable member, and displacement of the displaceable member corresponds to a pumping cycle of the positive displacement pump. A controller is in communication with the positive displacement pump. The controller is operable to apply an actuation parameter to direct a displacement of the displaceable member and is also operable to receive an indication of an actual position of the displaceable member. The controller is further operable to compare a predetermined actuation parameter associated with an expected displacement of the displaceable member to a measured actuation parameter associated with the actual position of the displaceable member.

  • Publication number: 20160061541
Abstract: The present invention provides a vapor-liquid contact device for use in a distillation column and method incorporating the use of such a vapor-liquid contact device. The vapor-liquid contact device has arrays of elongated strips to support a falling film of a liquid and contact of a vapor with the film. The strips are supported in a structure having top and bottom sections connected to opposite ends of the strips. The top sections have apertures in registry with the strips so that liquid distributed to the top section seeps out of the apertures to initiate formation of the falling film. Openings are provided at the top and bottom sections, so that a vapor is able to pass through the support structure to contact the falling film to effect contact between the liquid and the vapor. Liquid distributors are associated with the top section to distribute the liquid to the apertures.
