  • Publication number: 20150356345
Abstract: A system for detecting, identifying and tracking objects of interest over time is configured to derive object identification data from images captured from one or more image capture devices. In some embodiments of the system, the one or more image capture devices perform a first object detection and identification analysis on images captured by the one or more image capture devices. The system may then transmit the captured images to a server that performs a second object detection and identification analysis on the captures images. In various embodiments, the second analysis is more detailed than the first analysis. The system may also be configured to compile data from the one or more image capture devices and server into a timeline of object of interest detection and identification data over time.

  • Patent number: 9208101
Abstract: A method and system for virtual cache memory extension in a data storage device are disclosed herein. The storage device may include a memory that serves as a cache to a primary memory. The method for the storage device may include maintaining mapping information of one or more logical block addresses associated with data stored in the cache memory and maintaining mapping information of one or more logical block addresses associated with data not stored in the cache memory. Data stored in the cache memory may be selected for eviction when the available capacity of the cache memory changes, e.g., due to storing resume data in a hibernate operation. Data selected for eviction may be transferred to the primary memory but still tracked as being part of a virtual extended cache, and thus can be quickly restored into the cache memory when the resume data is no longer needed.

  • Publication number: 20150343745
Abstract: Provided herein are glass laminates, preferably safety glass laminates, that comprise a polymeric interlayer sheet formed of an acid copolymer composition. The acid copolymer composition comprises an ethylene acid copolymer which, in turn, comprises copolymerized units of ethylene, about 5 to about 90 wt % of copolymerized units of a first ?,?-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 10 carbon atoms; and optionally about 2 to about 40 wt % of copolymerized units of a derivative of a second ?,?-unsaturated carboxylic acid having 3 to 10 carbon atoms. Optionally, a portion of the carboxylic acid groups of the copolymerized units of the ethylene acid copolymer are neutralized to form carboxylate salts. The acid copolymer composition also includes a hydroxyl-containing crosslinking agent and may also include an adjuvant. The glass laminates have superior resistance to creeping due to the properties of the acid copolymer composition, which may optionally be cross-linked.

  • Patent number: 9201628
Abstract: Maximum likelihood bit-stream generation and detection techniques are provided using the M-algorithm and Infinite Impulse Response (IIR) filtering. The M-Algorithm is applied to a target input signal X to perform Maximum Likelihood Sequence Estimation on the target input signal X to produce a digital bit stream B, such that after filtering by an IIR filter, the produced digital stream Y produces an error signal satisfying one or more predefined requirements. The predefined requirements comprise, for example, a substantially minimum error. In an exemplary bit detection implementation, the target input signal X comprises an observed analog signal and the produced digital stream Y comprises a digitized output of a receive channel corresponding to a transmitted bit stream. In an exemplary bit stream generation implementation, the target input signal X comprises a desired transmit signal and the produced digital stream Y comprises an estimate of the desired transmit signal.

  • Patent number: 9201088
Abstract: A system comprises a plurality of fans, wherein each of the fans is configurable to run at a unique fan speed that is different from fan speeds of other fans from the plurality of fans. A plurality of variable-positioned devices, capable of being positioned at various locations within the system, are physically positioned such that airflow from one of the plurality of fans strikes a particular variable-positioned device. A plurality of anemometers, each of which is connected to a particular variable-positioned device, measure airflow across the variable-positioned devices. A system controller, which contains location information that identifies a physical position within the system of each of the plurality of fans, utilizes airflow readings from each of the anemometers to identify a physical location of each of the plurality of variable-positioned devices by matching physical locations of the fans to measured airflow across the variable-positioned devices.

  • Publication number: 20150340038
Abstract: A content alignment service may generate content synchronization information to facilitate the synchronous presentation of audio content and textual content. In some embodiments, a region of the textual content whose correspondence to the audio content is uncertain may be analyzed to determine whether the region of textual content corresponds to one or more words that are audibly presented in the audio content, or whether the region of textual content is a mismatch with respect to the audio content. In some embodiments, words in the textual content that correspond to words in the audio content are synchronously presented, while mismatched words in the textual content may be skipped to maintain synchronous presentation. Accordingly, in one example application, an audiobook is synchronized with an electronic book, so that as the electronic book is displayed, corresponding words of the audiobook are audibly presented.

  • Patent number: 9193018
Abstract: A system and method are provided for mounting, removing and retaining brake pads in disc brakes, such as air-operated disc brakes utilized on commercial vehicles, in a manner which does not require the use of separate brake pad retaining devices while providing positive retention of the brake pad. A preferred embodiment includes a brake caliper mount having brake pad abutment surfaces having radially-oriented and lateral grooves which permit a brake pad with corresponding projections on is lateral sides to be inserted through an opening of the brake caliper into the radially-oriented grooves until the backing plate projections are aligned with the lateral groove, and advancing the brake actuator behind the brake pad to place the brake pad in an operating position in which the actuator prevents the brake pad from realigning with the radially-oriented grooves until the actuator is retracted to permit brake pad extraction.
