  • Patent number: 10055756
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for determining user engagement levels during a presentation of content. The system first collects data associated with a user session at a client device. Next, the system predicts a user engagement level during the user session by applying an engagement predicting rule to the data. The system can predicts respective user engagement levels for various segments of the presentation by applying one or more engagement predicting rules to the data. The system then presents invitational content based on the user engagement level.

  • Publication number: 20180221592
Abstract: A needle set includes a needle guard with upper and lower jaws each defining a channel and joined at a hinge. Each edge of the jaws is aligned with and spaced from a respective edge of the opposite jaw defining slots alongside walls of the jaws. A winged needle has a cannula, a hub with a pair of wings with a tube connected to the cannula by the hub. The hinge portion has an opening into which the tube is received, and the side walls are spaced apart to permit the hub to be received between the jaws with the wings in the slots. The slots progressively narrow to a first spacing that is narrower than a thickness of each wing at a point thereof, and thereafter expand linearly to a second spacing that is substantially equal to the thickness of the wings.

  • Publication number: 20180218911
Abstract: A sequential plasma process is employed to enable the modification of the work function of a p-type metal layer in a metal gate structure. The sequential plasma process includes a plasma hydrogenation and a plasma process that includes electronegative species. The sequential plasma process is performed on a p-type metal layer in a film stack, thereby replacing suboxides and/or other non-stoichiometrically combined electronegative atoms disposed on or within layers of the film stack with stoichiometrically combined electronegative atoms, such as O atoms. As a result, the work function of the p-type metal layer can be modified without changing a thickness of the p-type metal layer.

  • Publication number: 20180218764
Abstract: A system that calibrates timing relationships between signals involved in performing write operations is described. This system includes a memory controller which is coupled to a set of memory chips, wherein each memory chip includes a phase detector configured to calibrate a phase relationship between a data-strobe signal and a clock signal received at the memory chip from the memory controller during a write operation. Furthermore, the memory controller is configured to perform one or more write-read-validate operations to calibrate a clock-cycle relationship between the data-strobe signal and the clock signal, wherein the write-read-validate operations involve varying a delay on the data-strobe signal relative to the clock signal by a multiple of a clock period.

  • Publication number: 20180215736
Abstract: The invention provides compounds, compositions and therapeutic methods. The compounds and compositions can be used for the treatment of myotonic dystrophy. The compounds can selectively bind to CUG repeats in RNA, or to CTG repeats in DNA, and inhibit replication of the nucleic acids. RNA-targeted therapeutic agents for the treatment of myotonic dystrophy type 1 (DM1) are described. In one embodiment, two bisamidinium ligands are linked using “click” chemistry to form a heterodimer that is a potent inhibitor of the MBNL1-rCUGexp complex (KI=25±8 nM), is relatively non-toxic to HeLa cells, dissolves nuclear foci, corrects >80% of the IR misregulated alternative splicing in DM1 model cells (1 ?M), and shows improvement of disease phenotypes in a DM1 Drosophila model.
