  • Publication number: 20240036226
Abstract: Fluid detection systems and methods using the same are disclosed. In embodiments the fluid detection systems include a sensor module and an electronics module. The sensor module includes a sensor housing that includes a liquid flow path and a sensor element disposed around at least part of the liquid flow path. The sensor element can detect a capacitance of the liquid flow path and provide a sensor signal to a controller in the electronics module. The electronics module can determine a detected capacitance in the liquid flow path based at least in part on the sensor signal, and can determine whether a wet event has occurred based on a comparison of the detected capacitance to a threshold capacitance. Methods using the fluid detection systems and fluid supply systems including the fluid detection systems are also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 11703140
Abstract: A relief valve has a valve body, a plunger assembly coupled to the valve body for selectively opening and closing the relief valve, and a support member secured to the valve body. A lockout lever is against the support member, forming a vertex. A spring rod is coupled to the lockout lever, and a spring is coupled to the spring rod, providing a bias force against the plunger assembly to normally close the relief valve. In a lockout position, the lockout lever is moved to pivot on the vertex against the support member to further compress the spring, which increases the bias force and, in turn, a cracking pressure of the relief valve.

  • Patent number: 11421795
Abstract: A relief valve provides pressure relief when a fluid line exceeds a predetermined pressure. The valve includes a body which defines a cavity between inlet and outlet flowpaths. The valve includes a lever arm, which pivots around a pivot point as the valve changes between open and closed positions. A plunger assembly is disposed in the cavity and seals the cavity from the inlet and outlet flowpaths in the closed position. Fluid pressure from the inlet flow path causes the plunger assembly to contact the lever arm to urge the lever arm to rotate. The lever arm engages a spring at a further distance from the pivot point than the plunger assembly, the spring resisting pivoting of the lever arm and urging the valve to remain in the closed position unless a predetermined pressure is exceeded.

  • Patent number: 10005233
Abstract: A kit for fusing piping includes a plurality of couplings, each coupling having a susceptor layer concentric with a weld zone. A control unit provides a current to a wand with a handle for gripping by a user. The handle has opposing jaws mounted on the distal end, each jaw including an arcuate conductor such that the arcuate conductors form a circular inner diameter when the jaws make contact. A lever system couples to the distal end for opening and closing the jaws. The lever system includes a spring for selectively biasing the lever system in a latched position with jaws closed and an open position with the jaws open. Each coupling is sized such that the jaws will only close about the weld zone. The arcuate conductors create a fuse zone about the susceptor layer and the spring is outside the fuse zone.

  • Publication number: 20160377213
Abstract: A fusion pipe assembly includes a fitting having at least one open end with a fusion region. A fusion pipe has a proximal end with a fusion region so that when the proximal end is inserted into the at least one open end, the fusion regions can be fused together. The fusion pipe has a distal end for mechanically coupling in a pipe network. A collar is inserted in the distal end and has an outer diameter approximately equal to an inner diameter of the distal end so that the collar strengthens the distal end. Preferably, the collar extends into the at least one open end of the fitting.
