  • Patent number: 8685568
Abstract: The current invention describes a lithium/carbon monofluoride (Li/CFx) cell capable of delivering sufficient power to supply an ICD or similar demanding device. The cell exhibits the typical excellent long-term stability and predictability of the CFx system, as well as its high energy density (greater than about 300 Ah/cc, greater than about 600 Wh/cc). Additionally, the cell is capable of delivering about 0.5 W/cc of cathode volume for greater than 5 seconds with a voltage above 1.70 V (FIG. 1). The following invention embodiments can be applied individually or in conjunction with each other.

  • Patent number: 8651501
Abstract: A mobile and adjustable dolly having an adjustable ā€œVā€ shaped dolly frame. The dolly frame comprises first and second pivotal frame members rotationally coupled to a central support frame member forming a ā€œVā€ shape. The central support frame member comprises a series of angle maintaining features for securing each frame member at any of a plurality of angled configurations. A distal caster, having a wheel rotation disposed therewith, is assembled to a distal end of each frame member and a central caster is assembled to a pivotal region of the dolly frame. A vehicle support subassembly is disposed upon and extends upward from the each respective frame member. An elongated handle assembly extends from the central caster. The elongated handle assembly further comprises a wheel chock, which removably engages with the central wheel when subjected to the weight of the elongated handle assembly.

  • Publication number: 20140041750
Abstract: A method of retrieving a vial from a carrier includes the steps of: contacting a vial contained within a carrier with a gripper assembly to shift the position of the container to one end of the carrier and to adjust the position of the carrier on a platform from a diverted position to a retrieval position; lifting the vial from the carrier with the gripper assembly; and returning the vial to the carrier with the gripper assembly. Such a method can improve the accuracy and precision of moving the vial to and from the carrier for dispensing.

  • Publication number: 20140040308
Abstract: A system and method for creating a unique alias associated with an individual identified in a health care database such that health care data, and particularly pharmaceutical-related data, can be efficiently gathered and analyzed. The system has a first data store for storing at least one record where each record includes a plurality of identification fields which when concatenated uniquely identify an individual, and at least one health care field corresponding to health care data associated with the individual. The system also has a second data store, and a processor. The processor selects a record of the first data store, then selects a subset of the plurality of identification fields within the selected record, and concatenates the selected subset of identification fields. Then the processor stores the concatenated identification fields in a record in the second data store with the at least one health care field from the selected record of the first data store.

  • Patent number: 8500507
Abstract: A flying vehicle in accordance to an embodiment of the present invention includes a main propeller and a propeller control mechanism for flying the vehicle. The main propeller includes a central base that permits the propeller control mechanism to be connected to the drive shaft. The propeller control mechanism includes a propeller hub and a lower hub with offset knobs that are connected by a link. A returning spring is sandwiched between the hubs and tends to return the hubs to the offset position when a change in a driving torque of the drive shaft causes them to move. The spring and link work in concert to change the pitch and height of the propeller blades while substantially unchanging the tip path plane of the propeller blades.

  • Publication number: 20130153086
Abstract: A product filler assembly (i.e., fill valve) configured for use in association with any number of flowable material, however, it is particularly well suited for flowable material that is otherwise difficult to fill due to viscosity, surface tension and/or poor separation characteristics. Most preferably, the device is configured to provide a laminar flow of the product being filled, proportional to the size of the package. The product filler assembly includes a nozzle cutoff assembly which directs air or other fluids at the opening of the product filler assembly to separate the flowable material from the filler assembly and to reduce seal contamination of packages or containers.

  • Patent number: 8346646
Abstract: A financial market replicator, simulator, and trainer/annotator (FMRS) intermixes and records data streams of real time financial market data from a variety of sources. The FMRS replays such recorded data to simulate the real time financial market(s) in a manner that represents substantially the entirety of information relating to the financial market(s) such that an observer would have difficulty differentiating between the simulator playback of the data and real time data. A user may employ the playback of the recorded market data stream as a research and training tool for developing and executing trading strategies. For example, a user may input simulated trades of securities to test a trading strategy. The simulator would apply those trades to the recorded data to generate simulated trades and simulated profit and loss results. A user may then determine if the trading strategy would have been successful.

  • Patent number: 8234840
Abstract: A form, fill and seal system having a product fill assembly, a tube forming assembly and a fitment securing assembly. The system allows for the relative positioning of the fitment that is to be applied to the film that forms the bags, at various points along the film by having the fitment securing assembly relatively positionable with respect to the tube forming assembly. In turn, with adjustments, a fitment can be located at a number of locations on a finished bag.

  • Patent number: 8180602
Abstract: Method for making a probabilistic determination of total seal capacity for a hydrocarbon trap, simultaneously considering both capillary entry pressure and mechanical seal capacity, and where capillary entry pressure is estimated by relating it directly to the buoyancy pressure applied by the hydrocarbon column to the top seal. The method thus considers the substantial uncertainty associated with input parameters, which uncertainty limits the utility of such analyses for robust hydrocarbon column height and fluid contact predictions. The method disclosed for estimating seal capillary entry pressure, the requisite input parameter for capillary seal capacity analysis, by inverting trap parameters avoids the need for direct measurement by mercury injection capillary capacity tests on small pieces of rock, which test results often are not available for all desired locations nor are they necessarily representative of adjacent rocks in the seal.
