  • Publication number: 20150278155
Abstract: This application is drawn to methods for identifying three-dimensional objects. Methods disclosed herein may include converting 3D model data to a set of simple surfaces, and generating searchable parameters from the image data and/or the simple surfaces. The searchable parameters may be stored in a database as metadata. A searcher may construct a search query by providing 3D model data from which search parameters and features may be extracted and used to formulate a query.

  • Publication number: 20150279121
Abstract: A three-dimensional scan editing method can include providing a set of three-dimensional model data defining a three-dimensional subject, and displaying the data as a reconstructed image. A user may select one or more voxels and change its state to over-writable. The state change may be reflected by a visual cue such as color or transparency. An image capture device may be provided and its field of view may be co-registered with the selected voxels. The user may then acquire new 3D model data with the device and overwrite the selected voxels with the new data.

  • Patent number: 8977528
Abstract: A method and apparatus may be present for managing rework. A section in a platform having a number of composite materials needing a rework may be identified to form an identified section. A selected rework process to perform the rework of the identified section may be identified. The selected rework process may comprise a process to bond a patch to the identified section. A computer system may perform a simulation of the selected rework process to determine whether the selected rework process provides the rework for the identified section. The simulation may include a thermal analysis. The thermal analysis may take into account a number of structures associated with the identified section. The number of structures associated with the identified section may be located within a distance of the identified section such that the number of structures affect or are affected by bonding of the patch to the identified section.

  • Publication number: 20130158439
Abstract: A method of permanent impairment assessment of a person's upper limb and/or hand is implemented using a proprietary computer program, and comprises the step of displaying a digital image of the person's injured limb and/or hand 24 and of their uninjured limb and/or hand 22 on a visual display screen. A measurement tool 20 is provided on-screen for measuring the extent of injury, wherein the measurement tool can be moved over the digital image of both hands. The extent of injury of the injured limb and/or hand is measured by moving the measurement tool 20 so as to overlay the injured limb and/or hand 24. A value for the degree of impairment can be obtained using this measurement.

  • Publication number: 20110240644
Abstract: A thermoformed or vacuum-formed plastic container packaging including a laser energy-induced internal rupturable area disposed between the topside and the bottomside of the plastic material. A pattern in structural communication with the laser-induced rupturable area enables the user's hands to apply a focused shearing force on the area for fracturing and opening the plastic material container. The rupturable area is configured such that an exerted shearing force exposes a haptically smooth fractured edge to the user. Two rupturable areas may be disposed such that two parallel patterns configure a tear strip or a pull-tab. Multiple rupturable areas are disposed such that parallel and attachable patterns configure protective covers or tear strip ends. Die cutout patterns configure notches or voids attached to said laser-induced rupturable area.

  • Publication number: 20110187859
Abstract: A monitoring system includes an image sensor configured to produce pixel data. An ambient light sensor such as a photocell produces ambient light level data. A processing subsystem is programmed to adjust the pixel data based on the ambient light level data. For example, the gain of an analog to digital converter can be increased or decreased based on the ambient light level data to adjust analog pixel data output by the imager as it is converted to digital data. If the ambient light level is high, for example, the gain can be decreased.
