According to the method, respective target values of a plurality of attributes of a target entity are obtained. Representations of a plurality of leaf nodes of a decision tree are obtained. Each of the representations indicates respective statistic values of a plurality of attributes of historical entities and a statistic prediction result determined from historical prediction results output at a respective one of the plurality of leaf nodes for the historical entities. Distance measures between the target entity and the plurality of leaf nodes are determined based on the target values and the statistic values indicated by the representations of the plurality of leaf nodes. A target prediction result for the target entity is determined based on the distance measures and the statistic prediction results of the historical entities.

Abstract: A security assessment scheduling tool uses a configuration file that is configurable via a user interface, to specify one or more elements of an application to be analyzed during the scoping process. Further, the security assessment scheduling tool may automatically schedule assessments for large numbers of applications using one or more constraining optimization techniques and/or via modeling the scheduling problem as an RCPSP problem. The security assessment scheduling tool processes the RCPSP problem for a defined period of time and then schedules remaining unscheduled applications within a specified time period thereby allowing the security assessment scheduling tool to schedule assessments of tens of thousands of applications.

Abstract: An image processing device comprising a processor configured to generate a refocused image from an input image and an map indicating depth information for the image, by the steps of: for each of a plurality of planes associated with respective depths within the image: generating a depth mask having values indicating whether regions of the input image are within a specified range of the plane, wherein an assessment of whether a region is within the specified range of the plane is made through the evaluation of a differentiable function of the range between regions of the input image and the plane as determined from the map; generating a masked image from the input image and the generated depth mask; refocusing the masked image using a blurring kernel to generate a refocused partial image; and generating the refocussed image from the plurality of refocussed partial images.

Abstract: A powered shearing mechanism or cutter is disclosed that comprises an asynchronous double class 1 lever and a linear actuator that uses two ganged wheels to pry the effort portion of both levers open and close the jaws. The wheels move linearly—with the distance between them kept constant—and roll along—and exert force against—parts of the levers called “bearing surfaces.” The bearing surfaces are non-planar and reflectively symmetric and their profile is customized to provide any desired ideal mechanical advantage for the cutter. In accordance with the illustrative embodiment, the profile of the bearing surfaces is a circular arc, which provides a bearing surface which is easy to precisely fabricate and that provides a fairly constant ideal mechanical advantage at each point as the cutter's blades cut through the material.

Abstract: An additive manufacturing system is disclosed that heats a feedstock and a workpiece in preparation for depositing and tamping the feedstock onto the workpiece. The system comprises a first laser/optical instrument pair for precisely heating the feedstock and a second laser/optical instrument pair for precisely heating the workpiece. The laser beam from each laser is shaped into an ellipse and each beam is rotated around an angle of rotation to ensure that the feedstock and the workpiece are properly heated. The system employs feedforward, a variety of sensors, and feedback to adjust the angle of rotation of each laser beam.

The method includes obtaining (i) measured data of a pattern failure (e.g., failure rate) related to a feature printed on a substrate based on a range of values of dose, and (ii) image intensity values for the feature via simulating a process model using the range of the dose values; and determining, via fitting the measured data of the pattern failure to a product of the dose values and the image intensity values, a failure model to model a stochastic behavior of spatial fluctuations in the resist and optionally predict failure of the feature (e.g., hole closing).

Abstract: Techniques to ensemble machine learning (ML) models are provided. A plurality of residues is generated by processing a plurality of input records using a plurality of ML models. A plurality of data clusters is identified by evaluating, using a clustering model, the plurality of input records and the plurality of residues. A first ensemble is generated for a first data cluster of the plurality of data clusters, where the first ensemble comprises one or more of the plurality of ML models. Upon determining that a new input record corresponds to the first data cluster, the new input record is processed using the first ensemble.

Abstract: In additive manufacturing, a method of adding a segment of fiber-reinforced thermoplastic filament. Adding a segment of filament involves three tasks: (1) determining where the segment of filament should be added, (2) depositing the segment of filament at the desired location, and (3) tamping the segment of filament to ensure adhesion and eliminate voids. Tamping the segment of filament is performed by steering a wheel along the filament. In accordance with the illustrative embodiment, the wheel is steered around a yaw axis that is offset from the wheel's axis by a distance s, where s is a positive real number.

Abstract: In a 3D-printing system, a deposition head comprising a band assembly having a body and a band for compacting a filament onto the surface of an object being manufactured. One or more actuators are mounted on the assembly body and are used to shape the band to a desired contour. The band is connected to the one or more actuators, and is capable of being driven along its length by one or more drive wheels. For example, the band can be in the form of a loop, arranged such that the front of the loop is in contact with a front wheel, the back of the loop is in contact a rear wheel, and the bottom of the loop faces toward the surface of the object. The band assembly further comprises a compaction support supporting the band and comprising a roller that permits the band to move along its length.
