  • Publication number: 20070098456
Abstract: A development subsystem is used to develop developer having semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles. The development subsystem includes a developer housing, for retaining a quantity of developer having semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles, a first magnetic roll having a stationary core with at least one magnet and a sleeve that rotates about the stationary core of the first magnetic roll, a second magnetic roll having a stationary core with at least one magnet and a sleeve that rotates about the stationary core of the second magnetic roll, and a motor coupled to the first and the second magnetic rolls to drive the rotating sleeves of the first and the second magnetic rolls in a direction that is against the direction of a photoreceptor that rotates in proximity to the first and the second magnetic rolls. The first and the second magnetic rolls carry semiconductive carrier particles and toner particles through a development zone formed by the first and the second magnetic rolls.

  • Publication number: 20060167414
Abstract: A syringe pump has a pusher (86) that pushes in the plunger (81) of a syringe (8) to dispense medication. A pivoted barrel size sensor arm (201) engages the syringe barrel (82) at one end (203) and carries three flags (207, 208 and 209) at the other end (205), which move across three sensors (217, 218 and 219) such that each sensor can change from a first state to a second state and back to a first state as the arm moves, to provide nine different size outputs.

  • Publication number: 20060013626
Abstract: A xerographic printer or copier includes a replaceable cartridge having a cleaning blade and carrier particle pickoff member associated with a rotating charge receptor. As the cartridge is being used, carrier particles removed from the photoreceptor by the cleaning blade are magnetically retained on the pickoff member, where the remain for the balance of the lifetime of the cartridge. When a useable lifetime of the cartridge is spent, the carrier particles are removed from the pickoff blade.

  • Publication number: 20050144306
Abstract: A method for managing data traffic in a multiple-user multiple simultaneous access environment using a channel load estimate and a calculation. The estimate or estimates are used to calculate a congestion threshold (CT) and to select a current congestion threshold broadcast to all potential users. An experiment is performed by users comparing that congestion threshold value and a random number to determine if a packet is eligible to be transmitted, thus throttling the random transmission of packets so that the transmitted load from the terminal has a rate of packet transmission that is less than the congestion threshold times the offered load (from the user), where the congestion threshold value is related to the probability of a globally successful transmission of a number of simultaneously transmitted packets. A quality of service (QOS) factor may also throttle the transmitted load.

  • Publication number: 20050086453
Abstract: A method and apparatus provides the capability for a single function to safely use multiple register windows within the same function, with minimal additional support from the operating system, by specifying a new window pointer, the “Effective Current Window Pointer” (ECWP), to be used in conjunction with the prior art window pointer. According to the present invention, the new window pointer ECWP can be used to override the prior art window pointer in dictating from which register window the operands stipulated by the instructions to be executed are sourced/sinked. Consequently, using the method and apparatus of the invention, the number of spills to memory is reduced, the number of instructions required is decreased, resources are used more efficiently, and costly dependency problems and RAW (read-after-write) stalls are prevented.

  • Patent number: 6138315
Abstract: A unitarily constructed toothbrush is provided including a head with bristles unitarily molded therewith, a handle and a neck, all being formed of an identical plastic material. Dispersed throughout the plastic material is at least one anti-microbial active compound such as a halogenated hydrocarbon, a quaternary ammonium salt or combinations thereof. Preferably the plastic material is a low density polyethylene. Toothbrushes of the present invention inhibit the growth of bacteria and other micro-organisms thereby avoiding the possibility of infecting oral gums.
